Hi Cathy! Thanks for the link about Tracie Long, I will check it out. I live in NY about 50 miles North of NYC. It's a nice country setting where I live, I love it! Congrats on getting through Meso 1!

Yesterday's workout was my Couch to 5K walk/run plus Muscle Endurance. Today I went for a 3.3 mile walk and did the 20 minute Turbo Jam cardio workout, plus Ab Jam. My hubby and I had a nice morning at the park together and then went out for breakfast. The dining room is coming along slowly but surely! He has to go back to work tomorrow so we'll continue to work on things at night.

Today, when I got to work HE affirmed the reason behind the prayer. My co-workers clearly treated me with disrespect today so I prayed the prayer again.

My final ECON grade is a solid B. Marketing is fun, my learning team is very proactive and intelligent, thank GOD. Today, I have been asking HIM for a man in my life that will the love of my life, enough common demonators to make it last but different enough to keep it interesting. Still working through the downtimes.
Your workouts sound like fun plus the couch part of it.

sounds beautiful, christine, i do miss not having a fall down here. didn't even have a spring this year. nope, no rain, 103 right now at 7pm. ick!

i did a 45m cardio dance workout. i am just so tired today.

well, thank you jt. i would love to come to michigan. i went to grand haven once in the fall and it was absolutely gorgeous. it was the first time i had ever seen the great lakes. they are incredible!

Hello Ladies,

I'm back home from my FL trip :) I had a pretty good time with a few little annoyances along the way, but it was soo good to get away. Now I have to work hard to get these extra pounds off. I didn't workout at all. Brought a couple of dvd's with me, but had no convenient spot in which to workout, and to be honest, after about the 2nd day, I no longer felt like working out. I was going out soo much, it was hard to fit anything in. It's good to be back home. I plan to unpack in a few minutes and get some laundry going.

How have all of you been? I missed all of you.

Hi Iris!!! :) :D :) Welcome back! I'm glad to hear you had a nice time! Don't worry about not working out, I brought Turbo Jam to Vermont but it never got unpacked! :p You deserved that time to just relax and I'm sure the break was really good for your shoulder too. What did you do with your kids? Did you see your sister? I missed you!

The only thing really new with me is that my hubby and I have been working on re-doing our dining room. It's still torn apart, there is tons of prep work. We still can't decide on a color!! :confused: :p It's fun doing home projects with him though. So glad you're back!

Hi Jen! How are you doing today? Congrats on your B in ECON! I'm glad to hear you're having fun with marketing and that you have a good team, that helps! Don't lose heart, God has the perfect man made just for you! Quick story: When my hubby asked me to marry him he told me a story of how his aunt had given him an engagement ring 8 years prior to us meeting to give to the girl he wanted to marry. He never looked at it until we met. When he was going to ask me to marry him he realized that there was a name sown into the silk screen of the ring box, and guess what name is was??? MY maiden name!!! He had a ring for 8 years with my last name literally written in it and didn't know until we met. Awesome, huh??! So, that is proof that God has our mates picked! HE just gave us a cute little story to share of HIS sovereignty! I hope you find encouragement in that! I will be keeping this in prayer for you. Try and enjoy being single for now, as that is also a gift from God until He brings you your mate. :)

Hi Cathy! I really feel for you, Fall and Spring are my favorite seasons! I still can't get over how hot it gets there. How did you end up living in Texas?

Today's workout was Butts & Guts (minus the guts, LOL). I didn't get to walk yet, but I may do that a little later on. Once hubby gets home from work, it's time to get back to our dining room work!

I missed you too :)

I went to Disney with my kids. We visited three of the 4 parks. Hollywood Planet, Epcot and Animal kingdom. We were ok with skipping Magic Kingdom this time. We also went to Cypress Gardens, the beach and a nice pool. We went to the movies. I saw "My Sister's Keeper". That was such a sad movie. We also went to Disney Village and Old Town. We were pretty much on the go much of the time. Yesterday, was the only day that we stayed home and just relaxed. We figured it would be better to take it easy, then have to rush around later in the day to get back to NJ.

I managed to do "Muscle Endurance" today. I had planned on going to the gym as well for some cardio, but my son had the biggest craving for a steak, so he and I went out to dinner instead. I figured he wouldn't leave me alone if I didn't give in, and it's the one thing he wanted to do before going back to work tomorrow. I was probably being a little too ambitious in wanting to get two full workouts in anyway, lol.

oh jen, i am sooooo jealous! i have a friend that lives there. i think he owns a business downtown. i htink it is an advertising business of some kind. it is so beautiful there.

iris, you are such a good mom. the last thing i ever want to do is go to disney! any of them. an d my dil loves to go there and her mom lives in sarasota, like an hr. from disney. now, i will do just about anything for my grandkids, but disney, don't think so. especially in the fla. heat. i don't want to go anywhere where it is hot. it is still in the 100's here.

christine, my family is orginally from NE tenn. up in the appalachians, blue ridge mtns. my dad joined the air force, left the farm and never went back. i lived there when i was young, and i visit as much as i can. usually in the fall. all my aunts and uncles on both sides live there still. one uncle lives on my paternal grandparents farm. which is now in the middle of the city. but, when i was a little girl, i LOVED going out to the farm. it was so fun, of course, for an animal lover like me. my older brother and i let my grandpa's bull out once and , boy, did we get in trouble. LOL! we had so much fun there. the summers were so wonderful. gorgeous weather, lightening bugs everywhere. my grandma had a big cherry tree and i ate so many cherries, i had to go to the dr. i got so sick. we had a blast there. but, anyway, sorry to ramble on. so, anyway, my dad got stationed at lackland afb in san antonio, and we kept coming back there every time we went overseas. so, tht is how i ended up in texas, and then i married a 7th generation texas, and that is all she wrote. he will NEVER leave texas, so here i am. and now my grandkids are here too, so i ain't going anywhere. :) we did go to england and germany during those years in teh air force and that was fabulous. i would love to go back.
and, that is a cool story about you're engagement. God is so good!!! believe it or not, my son met my dil online. scared me to death. but , he is a computer geek, so i had to trust that he knew what he was doing. so, they courted over the internet for 3mo. before they met. but, the Lord had it all planned, and now i have those beautiful grandkids. i know, i talk too much about my grandkids. sorry!!!

Cathy, I honeymooned in the Smokies and before, my family stopped there on the way back from FL to MI. I am familiar with the Blue Ridge Parkway, etc.. My oldest brother lives in Houston and all of his friends love visiting northern MI because of the lifestyle is so different than TX even the Padre Islands. Did you dine at Porta Bella's, SnugHarbor, Fricano's Pizza, or Kirby Grille?
Iris, you went to Disney? How fun. It is SOOO big though compared to DisneyLand in CA.
Christine. Hope you are having a great night and thank you for your prayers. Lately, I have been feeling isolated and not loved at all. I should be OK, I always make it through.

Hi Iris! Wow, you sure were busy in Florida! I'm glad you got to do and see a lot, but also had a day to relax before heading back. Did you take lots of pictures? I've been doing ME as part of my rotation the past 3 weeks, it's pretty tough, eh?? :D Are you back to work today or did you take off until Monday?

Hi Cathy! Sounds like you had a great childhood! What an awesome place to grow up, I can tell you were really happy there. It's great that you get to go back and visit too. I would have been in my glory on that farm with animals and a cherry tree!! :p My hubby lived in Wisconsin when we met (my grandma knew his dad -that's a whole different story, LOL), so we actually talked online for about a month and then on the phone for a few more weeks before meeting in person when he moved back to NY (he is originally from NY). It was a great way to get to know each other! We like sharing our "ring" story because it's a good testimony to those looking for the right mate that God does care and has someone planned for each of us!

I skipped my workout for today. I actually banged my head pretty hard last night and I still have a very slight headache so I thought I'd take it easy. I bent over to pick up my cat and on my way up my head hit the iron handle we have on our sliding glass doors. It was nothing serious but boy does it hurt if I touch that spot on my head today!! :eek:

Hello Ladies,

Cathy, lots of people feel that way about parks like Disney, lol. My parents refused to go with us. My dad says it makes no sense to him to wait 45 - 60 minutes for a ride that lasts about 3 minutes, lol. The odd thing is, I actually enjoy the heat. I get migraine headaches soo often living in NJ, and yet in FL, even in the heat, I only got one mild headache. I found that to be very strange. I still don't know how we managed to stay in the parks from 9:00AM to nearly 11PM. Geez, that's 13 hours of walking!! It was fun, but it's good to be back home.

Christine, sorry to hear about your incident :( I don't blame you for taking a rest day. I'm not sure if I ever replied to your question, way back on TJ CP3, lol. You had mentioned you didn't really like it. Actually that one grew on me. It has a part where it gets a little confusing, and because of it, I didn't quite enjoy it, but I tried it again another couple times, and now I actually like it. Chalean's outfit in that workout is another story, lol. I had the hardest time getting past her doing KB in a skirt, lol. That's Chalean for you. She wears the craziest outfits sometimes.

Hi Jen. Enjoy your 3 day weekend. Like Christine said, you have us here for you. I'm dreading getting back to work on Monday. Trying my best not to think about it right now, but I have that dread factor creeping up already :(

Onto my workout today. I did one of my Taebo videos - Ger Ripped Advanced 1. With quite a few pauses, I was able to get through the whole thing. I really need to drop these extra pounds.

Looks like I'm the first one checking in today.

What a workout day I've had! I will need to take my rest day tomorrow, because I have been going strong since returning from my vacation, lol.

I headed to the gym this morning, and did about 15 minutes on the Elliptical, then took the "Power Hour" class. It was a mix of step work, not high cardio though, and of course the resistance machines. I got home and felt like I really didn't get enough weight-training, so after a little break, I did Cathe's CTX Upper Body workout. My arms feel like jello right now, lol. I think my rest day tomorrow will be rather enjoyable, lol.

I hope you are all having a great day. It was nice & sunny here earlier, but now it's kind of cloudy.
 
Praise HIM!! The trim is done and it looks great!! My learning team is doing well and was able to find information on my portion of it. Sunday night be longer than I desire but it will be worth it.
Plus, I got invited to a party next weekend from some old schoolmates of mine.

Jen, congrats on getting your trim work done! I know now that just by doing little touch ups around the house, things look so much better! Sounds like you're having a good day between getting your home project done and your team helping you out with your homework. Now you can relax tonight! :)

Iris, you had a good workout today... or should I say workoutS?! ;) I can relate to the feeling of wanting to come back strong after a vaca with no exercise! I bet you will need your rest day tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know about CP3, I'll have to give it another chance. I was really worn out the day I tried it and kind of cranky about exercise in general, ha ha. So I'll try it again on a day where I'm feeling strong. I wonder if you get more migraines at home because you are stressed about work? It just seems too coincidental that you didn't get as many on vacation!

Cathy, what are you up to this weekend?

I posted in Open Discussion a question about the frequency of additional cardio & leg work with the running program I'm doing. I was starting to feel tired and wondering if I was over-doing it. I got some replies but I'm still a bit unsure of where to go from here since I'm new to running. What do you guys think? I guess I just need to listen to my body. It's actually been about 5 weeks since I ended Slim in 6 and moved on to Cathe endurance workouts, so next week I'm going to start some strength workouts (Pure Strength, 4DS, Gym Styles), so we'll see how that goes. I may cut out the additional walking I do during the week. I don't know what to do since I love walking!! I HATE obesssing over what to do!! Decisions, decisions.... sorry to ramble, thanks for reading (or did you all skip to the end yet? HA!) :p

My head is feeling much better today! I'm glad I took the rest I needed. I am off from all workouts this weekend too. We're still working on the dining room. Later tonight or tomorrow will be a long trip to Lowes, my husband's dream store, LOL!

Jen, that is a great accomplishment getting the trim work done. My house needs a paint job desperately, but I'm struggling with motivation. My shoulder is getting better each day, so I'm hoping to tackle the paint project soon.

Christine, I get soured on workouts sometimes when I do them on an off day. I get too eager to check out new workouts, and sometimes I'm not up to the intensity, but push myself anyway. What happens is, I end up frustrated with the workout. Then I'll try the same workout on a day when I'm feeling strong, and find I actually do like the workout, lol. So definitely give CP3 another go on a good day. Also, don't feel like you have to work it exactly as they are in the video. Some things just don't flow as well for me the way they do it, so I give it my own style.

As for your running question. I'm not sure exactly what your question was, but I would consider running cardio in itself. So actually 3 days of running to me would be equal to 3 days of cardio. If you feel like you need more cardio, I would keep those cardio workouts short, say a maximum of 30 minute workouts. As for strength training, if you workout 6 days a week, I would make 3 of those days strength training days. I'm not a runner myself, but this is probably how I would work my routine. We try not to get obsessed about our routines, but sometimes it happens. I am starting to get the itch to get a routine going again, which will most likely be Chalean's Xtreme, but I want to make sure I am feeling strong enough before I begin, so I'll see how this week works with being back at work, and going to the gym, and I may start Xtreme in the next week or two.

I agree, it seems my headaches may be brought on my stress. I had moments of stress during my vacation, more due to tension between my daughter and niece. They were best of buds one day, and not speaking the next, lol. After a while, I was fed up with it, lol.

Oh, I have some praise news. My little cousin Leslie is in remission from her leukemia. Please keep praying for Leslie and her family, that the Lord will complete the work he's begun in her. She's only 12, and the treatments she's been on are really strong. The family needs all the prayers they can get. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers :)

Iris, thanks for sharing the great news about Leslie, praise God!! That is wonderful news. I will certainly keep them in continued prayer!

Thanks for your advice on my running program. I'd like to consider my running a "cardio" day, but right now since I'm not running that far yet I feel like it may not be enough. Certainly as the weeks go on and I run farther and longer, then I would cut out anything additional besides weights. I guess that was my whole dilema. I realized though with my current rotation that I was working out over 90 minutes somedays! I just didn't realize it because it was split between my runs/walks and then doing a DVD at home. I'm starting fresh next week with less intense workouts with the longest being about 66 minutes (including my runs/walks), so this should be much better for me. Trial and error I guess! Oooh, let me know when you start CLX, I've wondered about that program!

I will definitely give CP3 another try when I am up for it! I LOOOVVEE Turbo Jam, so I can't imagine NOT liking one forever, LOL. It's so much fun!!!

How old is your daughter again? I remember when I was younger being the same way with my friends. We would be best buds one minute and not the next, LOL. Is your niece close in age with your daughter?

No workouts for me today. The weather is BEAUTIFUL today!! I think the high is around 80 but there's a nice breeze. My hubby and I had some breakfast sandwiches at the park this morning and then played frisbee with the dog. After we got home we started doing some yardwork. He's mowing the lawn right now and I'll be out to help soon. What a wonderful day from God! I pray everyone is enjoying it. Blessings! :)
