Okay - mom of 3 here. Last party was yesterday. My DH is out with the kids and I've worked on the house ALL day. Phase 1: pick up the mess we left from running around. Phase 2: find a place to put all the NEW stuff. Phase 3: tackle the basement, which has become the dumping ground for stuff I can't deal wtih yet. Phase 4: my daughter's closet which has become a Barbie/horse explosion. Just started Phase 2, which involved getting yet another toy out. For all of you who feel this pain, please enjoy

Success with all your phases :)

Not meaning to be a downer, but on a different note, there's been public reminders in my town about taking care with the type of gift packaging left outdoors for several days before recycling is collected. E.g. when left in plain view outdoors, packaging for a new flat screen, PS 3 or other cool toys, may alert those with 'sticky fingers' about tempting new Christmas goodies that are available indoors. (I suppose that's advice useful for anytime of year really). They suggest keeping such packaging inside until the actual recycling day.

Sounds like you're well-organized and keeping on top of things though.

Haha! This auntie definitely feels the pain. Those twisty things...oh man! I actually wised up for Christmas this year and removed all the packaging, put in the batteries, etc. BEFORE wrapping the gifts.
