ahhh... took a pedicab!

So my DDs and I went down into the city yesterday (NYC), and could not get a cab, because it was rush hour. So we decided, what the heck, and took a pedicab. It was like being on some crazy, carnival ride! So fun! He was going so fast, and zipping around traffic... even the carriage horses. My DH said we were nuts, but even though it probably wasn't the safest way to get around, I'm sure my DDs will remember this for a long time. Anybody else rode one of these?

This is exactly what I thought when I read the subject of this thread. :7 I am now surprised to find out that's NOT what it is. So.... what is it???

A pedicab is like a rickshaw, only the guy pulling it is riding a bike. So, think of a bike with a bench-like thingie attached to the back.

OMG how fun!! I got my first glimpse of a pedicab a couple of weeks ago on What Not to Wear when one of the fashion offenders used one to get around NYC.

It was wild. We even had "surround sound" with tunes streaming from the guy's ipod to speakers. And it was great zooming past the cars stuck in traffic!

DH and I rode one of these in Key West. It was a lot of fun, but I kinda felt bad for the guy cause he was pushing really really hard. :+
