Ahhh... my "cheat"nite, food that is!

I've officially designated Friday night as my cheat nite, when I can eat my uncleans, guilt free. Last nite, very cheesy pizza and then, fudge swirl ice cream. I think this system will help me eat clean for the rest of the week. I've really upped my fruits and veggies over the past few weeks, hoping my would respond in kind, and... it has. Thanks, ladies, for fabulous tips on keeping the clean eating going!:)

Delfin,

I have been doing this ever since BFL. It is great isn't it? Do you find that you do not need nearly as much of the cheat food to satisfy you as before?

I absolutely cherish my cheat day - it makes it SO much easier to get through the rest of the week "clean!" And today's the day! http://bestsmileys.com/happy/7.gif

Yes! That pizza felt so... heavy... in my stomach, is was like I couldn't imagine eating more than a slice and a half (I used to eat 2 - 2 1/2 no problem)

Cheat night is a beautiful thing....

I've been doing a cheat night ever since I've been a Weight Watcher. I would always designate my weigh-in night as my cheat night and nothing was off limits.

I find that as time goes by and my eating is a clean as it's ever been, my cheat nights aren't as bad as they used to be. However, they are still necessary! And still no guilt ;) !

Enjoy!

White Castle burgers, my friends and I call them bellybombers. But they are yummy. Luckily I don't have one close by.

I'm not a super clean eater, but in my fantasies there will come a day when I will eat clean most of the time. But in my case I worry that cheat night would put me on the wrong track, either that I wouldn't be able to stop at one serving of ice cream that night, or that the taste of "forbidden fruit" would make me screw up the rest of the week. Does anyone have those problems? Do you just decide what your portion of pizza or ice cream is going to be and then stick to it? Is that hard to do?

I'm with Melissa!

My cheat night is my weigh in at Weight Watchers....nothing is off limits! I am also finding that my cheat nights aren't as bad as they used to be! Instead of the box of cookies, I am finding that I am happy with 2.

I find that if I am absolutely craving something, I can wait until cheat night. By that time, I am over the craving and on to a new one!;)

RE: Ahhh... my

I have to have my cheat night. It keeps me sane. And it's amazing that I can totally pig out (which I don't do EVERY cheat night, but there have been a few) and still manage to lose weight. I just tell myself, whenever I am craving someting, to wait until Saturday. It makes it so much easier.

Cheat night (or day in my case!) is a celebration! It's wonderful to know that I only have to be "good" for six days. I never cheat during those 6 days because I know what I have to look forward to!

RE: Ahhh... my

My DH and I always go out to eat on Friday nights. I typically eat quite clean all other times.

Many times on those "cheat" nights I eat something healthy anyway just 'cuz I'm not fixing it. Other times I have a few bites of his appetizers (he always has to have them even if he orders a large dinner and a salad too).

It helps me because then I don't feel like I am "cheating" myself out of some of the more fun things in life. I really love food but have learned to enjoy adding flavors with herbs, fruits, etc. and we actually make quite a healthy BBQ dinner between the two of us by using clean marinades/seasonings and grilling both the protein and veggies - I typically skip the simple carbs but will make them for him.
