after weight loss

Having been very fit & active my entire life, I let myself go in my late 30's. 2-1/2 years ago I started exercising and sensible eating. I lost 60 lbs. and am within 2-3 lbs. of my ideal bmi. I exercise intensely 1-1/2 hours most days. I am now 45 years old and pretty fit. My question is: I still have a small amount of loose skin in my abdominal area. Will this disappear with continued work - or am I stuck with this "scar" of my fat period?

Hi Dawn! Congratulations, you are in amazing shape. Kudos to you for get back in action. Loose skin can take up to two years to retract back after being stretched out. After that your age, skins elasticity, that time of the month, and genetics tell the story. Keep working at it and drink a lot of water to keep your skin hydrated. Dehydrated skin tends to hang limp.

Thanks for the reply - amazingly my dr. didn't know the answer! I should have mentioned for everyone's benefit... When I first began to make lifestyle changes I ran - I was up to 6 miles 5 or 6 days a week and even though I lost weight it didn't tone me up in the ways I was hoping. I started doing a Cathe video & I was hooked! Now I rotate between several and they worked for me. Now I only run 1 or 2 days, and use Cathe videos the other days and I'm please with the results and also never bored.
