Wrestling is more of an anaerobic sport, much like short sprints in track. It is developing your body's strength to go hard in short bursts, but not preparing the body for endurance. So, look at your goals...Do you want to have endurance and be able to sustain your strength (total body) for greater periods of time? You will burn calories and get in shape wrestling, but you will not develop much endurance with the sport. Wrestling, however, is a INCREDIBLY difficult sport for the mind and body and is very demanding. You are just training your body differently than, let's say, running at extended periods of time.
