Advice needed.

Hello,

This is my first post here. I've been working out with the Firm for awhile and I'm not getting the results I really want. I was wondering if someone could direct me to what would be a good Cathe DVD to buy. She has so many to choose from it's kind of overwhelming.

Thanks for any help.
Heather

I used to do the Firm, and am new to Cathe too. I started with Basic Step + Body Fusion DVD, and I think that was a wise choice. You'll probably be too fit, for it to be intense, but the FIRM just doesn't turn around all sides of the step like Cathe! The footwork is challenging for me.

I have since purchased Body Blast and Intensity series, and am glad I started with BS+BF!

Heather,

Do you own any Cathe workouts yet? Just wondering how you discovered the website. If you already have the basics and are looking to move up, check out the ratings listed under the 2nd forrum (the one listed under Ask Cathe). All her workouts are listed by type (ie. strength, cardio, circuit) and then given a rating of difficulty. If you are completely new, start with Basic Step and Body Fusion. Cathe's step is intricate. If not, then use this guide to decide, starting at the bottom or middle range of difficulty...

Hi!

I, too, came here via the FIRM, and I must tell you that I love the Intensity series -- it's the first that I got. Yes, the footwork was tricky, but I still loved it, and now can get around in it pretty well. I love the intensity of the workouts, and I'm thinking that you might, too.

Just my 2 cents.

No i don't own any Cathe yet. But I heard about this website from the Firm Boards. There are a lot of people over there that do both Cathe and the Firm Rotations. I heard that Cathe was more challenging. I saw some of her workouts on Fit TV and it just looked like they all were having fun and the footwork looked hard but really looked like a blast. Thanks for ya'lls advice. There are just so many to choose from.

Heather,

I went straight from Firm and Karen Voight to Cathe. Granted, MIC doesn't have the most complicated stepwork, but I think as long as you are patient with yourself and just have fun with it, you can start just about anywhere. I think Rhythmic Step and the step tapes of the body blast series are more intricate than Intensity Series, and the IS series is lots of fun. Although, as others have noted, getting the BB series first will mean you have IS to look forward to later...

ok i need help with the abbrev. what's MIC, BB and i assume IS is Intensity Series. Could you help wiht the others?

Hey Heather,

MIC would be Maximum Intensity Cardio, it is one of the older workouts, but fun. That workout is on a DVD with two other workouts, I think it is with Rhythmic Step. I can't remember the name of the third. I believe Rhythmic Step is the first workout, with MIC being the second workout on the dvd. BB? I think is the Body Blast series which would include Step Blast, Push/Pull, Supersets, Step, Jump and Pump, Kick, Punch and Crunch, the Timesaver DVD (which is short combos of the workouts) and there may be a couple others, but I can't remember. Hope this helps.

By the way, any Cathe workout is great. I just keep buying more!
