Advice for DVD purchase

Cathlete
All,

I have $27 burning a hole in my Cathe account, which seems like a shame, so I'm looking for some advice on a single DVD to add to my Cathe collection. I've been using with regularity: PS series, GS series, PUB/LB, MuscleMax, CoreMax, KPC (VHS), MIC (VHS), MIS (VHS), and I recently purchased Legs & Glutes (VHS), and CTX Power Circuit (VHS). I've got a number of her step tapes on VHS as well (I'm a Cathe junkie from the Mega Step Blast days).

I have SS/Push-Pull, BootCamp/ME, and the S&H series on my wish list, and for now am just looking for something to cover my $27 credit. I'm considering, in no particular order:

Ab Hits
KickMax
High Step Training
High Step Challenge

I may have ceiling height issues - I need to test out my workout space with a high-flying Cathe step tape to see if this is just too hard for me to do where I workout now - I'm a little worried about this aspect of HST. Also, if the moves in LowMax, or any of the newer IMAX workouts aren't huge, height-wise, I'd be psyched about those as well.

Thoughts?

Sorry for responding to my own post, but I'm previewing HST right now - OH MY GOD!!! Is it as tough as it looks? I think I've found nirvana!!! Seeing the preview, I think I'll be fine for space - I can mod the power circles so I don't whack the ceiling. Anything that has Cathe panting must be just unbelievable. :)

Is this harder than HSC? Wow - I'm watching the one-arm dips right now - killer! Music seems great as well.

I might have found my DVD!!!

Feel free to push me over the edge, or toward something else. :)

Thx,
m.

I always get the high step workouts mixed up. I prefer the one from the Hardcore Series (I think it's HSC), which is tough and tons of fun. The other advanced one has music that is kind of boring to me.

If you haven't already purchased your DVD, you might want to consider LowMax. If you like LIS, you'll love Low Max. It's obviously a lot harder than LIS, but it's fun and effective (it's really a leg fryer).

If you are looking for kickboxing, I'd pick K,P,C over Kickmax, but that's just me.

Shelbygirl,

I did already place my order, and of course I couldn't stop at just one, even though I SWORE to myself that I was *only* getting one. :) I should be receiving Ab Hits, KickMax (have KPC and LOVE it, so I wanted another Cathe kickbox workout to add to the mix) and High Step Training today! I took a rest day today because I'm dying to try HST immediately - I think Cathe circuits mixed in with the more heavy weight training tapes of hers that I'm using right now will be the perfect addition to my routine. I also nabbed StretchMax on eBay, which I'm looking forward to getting.

After seeing your message, I looked at LowMax, which I've never considered before - it's now on my wish list! It looks GREAT. Did you mean to say that you think it's *harder* than MIC? Or that MIC is harder, but LM is fun/effective? It really does look great - I can definitely see how it's a leg-burner.

Thanks for your input!

Is your credit card smokin'?:)

Good choices. Kickmax is a lot of fun but I generally use it as an add ons to my other workouts. The blast challenge is tough but the time just flies by and the leg conditioning drills are great also.

HST is intense. I did it this morning at 5:30 am and it sure gets my heart racing. And, with all the leg presses, you'll be bouncing a quarter off your rear end in no time:p

Yep, your next purchase needs to be Lowmax. It's an awesome leg workout and it's so much fun. It's just different than MIC because there's no impact so IMHO it's hard to really compare the two.
