Coming off the Road Trip, I'm just curious to know what other "adventure" weekends/trips you've all taken, so I thought I'd start a thread.
Twice I've gone out to Colorado/New Mexico to herd cattle. Slept under the stars with no sleeping bag. No running water, no electricity. All food was cooked on a wood stove, which was pulled by chuckwagon (huge horses) and set up each night where we made camp.
Difficult, but a FABULOUS experience. Truly amazing. It was quite a culture shock in the beginning of the week, but after all the layers of modern life were peeled away, it was far more difficult to come home to fluorescent lights, traffic, noise, and the rest of "civilization." It took a while to put the layers back on.
So ... I'd love to hear other's stories.
