Advantages of Upper/Lower Body Splits as Opposed to Training Ind. Body Parts

Hi Cathe:

Hope all is well with you. I just had a quick question: What is the advantage of doing lets say an Upper Body Split training program as opposed to "braking out" body parts and training them individually like in your Pure Strength series. Does a split boost your metabolic rate a little more. Sometimes I prefer a split for time constraint reasons. Thanks :)

I consider working all upper body parts on one day an endurance workout. That is why I never can do PS C/S/T and B/B/A at one time because these are strength type workouts (to me) and I benefit from doing them consecutive days. Cathe has said before that you shouldn't split the PS tapes because the chest is worked in the triceps portion of the tape, the shoulders are worked during the chest exercises, biceps are worked during the back, etc. But I also like doing MIS or Body Max where you hit every muscle in one day too. As far as benefits, I am not sure. I think I just wasted your time by posting because I didn't even answer your question. Sorry. But have fun!
