Advanced Beginner- Help/Suggestions

I am 46 years old and used to do a lot of FIRM and Cathe, until I fell off the fitness wagon. I started back on January 1st of this year and have had some good success with Cathe and WW, starting with Basic Step and Body Fusion. I do have some lower back issues, and I am worried that if I get hurt, I won't be able to work out at all. Currently, I am doing Body Fusion and Low Impact Step, rotating on opposite days. Because I want to burn calories, I am not taking any days off. I am stretching e/o day.

I got Cathe's coupon and would love to put it to good use, so this seems like the right time to stock up. I love step because I have to think about the steps and it makes the time fly for me. I like to be challenged, but, again, I have to watch the back.

I currently own:

Basic Step and Body Fusion
Low Impact Step
Cardio and Weights
Total Body Stretching
Low Impact Circuit
Stretch Max

My goal is to lose weight, build endurance and have fun without injury. I am ready to spend, so send the suggestions! Thanks in advance.

I don't think thats such a hot idea. You are more likely to get injured if you don't take at least one day off per week. Your body needs to recover and rebuild bone, muscle and connective tissue. Step is a very back intensive activity because of the core being engaged on repeaters. Just cycle your calories and you should be fine.

Low Max for extra calorie burn and fun choreo.
The Classics Vol. 1 or Cardio Hits for fun old school step thats not too challenging on choreography.
Body Max 2 has a great cardio only premix at 62 minutes long.
RS was my first Cathe dvd (whoa!) and it has really fun but intricate choreography. Its a super calorie burner, I get at least 600 calories out of it.

The best calorie burner I have is not Cathe. Running intervals seems to burn the most and have the best effect on my body.

Well, she made all the suggestions I was going to make! I have to say that Low Max is deceptively intense! You would think that a low impact step routine would be easier, but it is much more challenging than a lot of the higher intensity step workouts I've done so far!

Have to agree, too, that you need at least one rest day per week! You could do some longer stretching routines on your rest day. Cathe has at least one stretching DVD that you may want to look at. I think that would be really good for you to do an extended stretch once a week.

Have fun shopping!
