Adding weight to dumbells

Hi,
I saw that you can add weight to dumbells to increase the weights by small increments. I would like to add 1 pound at a time, which would mean getting 0.5 lb weight. I heard about Plate Mate but here in Québec, they only sell them by 2.5 weights, which is not ehat I need at all.
Do you have recommandations on what to get and if they have locations in Canada or at least ship there?
Thanks
Nathalie

Thanks Kathryn,
I found them but they are expensive: I would need the 18 pc set and with shipping to Canada, it comes to 120 $US (before the exchange). I was hoping it would be cheaper that that. I am thinking of getting all of STS so I guess pace weights will have to be postponed for a while! Maybe I'll use wrist weights + a dumbell instead to get closer to the weight I target.

Nathalie,
I second the pace weights recommendation -when budget allows :). I am on my second round of STS and I have used wrist weights AND pace weights on a few exercises (since I only got 5 lbs of pace weights... I have to order more) The wrist weights worked well for me. I would definitely recommend getting whatever meso STS you need and then work on the weight issue from there!

Hi Nathalie!

I just started STS and am using wrist weights to increase my really small increments for my dumbells. It's working very well! I have the kind that you can increase/decrease by 1/4 per wrist up to 2.5 lbs.

With my barbell, I just go up to the next regular weight and it doesn't seem to be hindering my - yet!

Thanks Kathryn,

I did not know that adjustable wrist weights existed. I'll have to look into that. It would be a more interesting option that the 2.5 lbs I usually see in stores. Maybe one that, my budget will allow me to get the pace weights but as Brenda recommended, my priority will be to first get STS. I'll use wrist weights in the meantime!
