Activa for Gas!!!

I did. Can't say as it helped. What has seemed to help is giving up my BSN lean dessert protein that I used to mix in my morning oatmeal.

Now I'm using brown rice protein powder or fat free cottage cheese or pasteurized egg whites.

I seem to do ok with cheese or yogurt but not other dairy. What's your dairy intake?
 
I didn't see any change but that was a long time ago that I tried it. Now, I eat Greek yogurt for the protein and lack of sugar/sweetener. It has the probiotics in it too, like regular yogurt. I also drink something called Good Belly that I really like and it seems to help. My mom kids me that air give me gas though so I'll take anything that helps :p You can also chew on fennel seeds and/or make a tea out of it, and peppermint tea and especially capsules help tremendously for me. Drinking a lot of water helps things a lot too.
 
Where can you get fennel seeds or peppermints pills? I need something so badly for some relief. I just quit broccoli for one day, I dont know how long that takes to get out of your system? Thanks for any help!! Lori
 
Oy - broccoli!! I won't touch it. I got my peppermint pills at HEB in the section where they have the supplements, etc. Get the enteric coated ones. The ones I have also have fennel, I think. Get fennel seeds in the spice section. I also keep the ultra strength gas-x on hand. If you try the peppermint, you may feel an odd sensation coming up your esophagus - at first, I forgot i had taken the pill when this happened. It is just the cooling feeling coming from the inside, not unlike a strong mint in your mouth. It was not unpleasant and now, I don't notice it much. And just drink a lot of water to help your bowels.
 
Thanks Shana, I also have the extra strength gas-x in capsules, but it is not working!! I will give what you suggested a try. I just started eating broccoli about 2 weeks ago and its been a gas ever since. No more Broccoli!!!!
 
All the best! Don't know how much of a difference there is, but the GasX I get is Ultra something. It just has more simethecone, or whatever that is, so you could probably double up what you have. It is safe stuff. I tried the broccoli sprouts - broccolini I think - and don't know if they give you gas like broccoli or not. I didn't care for the taste too much so I didn't eat enough to find out. If they are easier on the digestive system, then if you feel brave, try those. They have more of the good stuff anyway.
 
It's really bad when doing ab work and lifting my legs over my head. Watch out!! My sons clear the room when I start doing that exercise because they know whats coming!! lol

I was working out at the gym on an Ab crunch machine and the trainer told me something like breathe or blow it out and I told her I couldn't cuz I was trying not to fart !
 
This thread is hilarious! I've noticed that fruit from Costco is doing a number on my stomach. I think it might be a fertilizer or preservative they're using. For instance the blackberries, presliced mangoes (not whole mangoes) are just horrible for me!
 
Hey Shana, I went and bought some peppermint oil pills at the health food store and also some plant Derived Enzymes pills for digesting. Wow, I finally feel some relief!! Thanks so much for the suggestion of the peppermint pills. Lori

Great news! I thought about you this morning and hoped to hear that something was working for you. Not only is it a miserable feeling, it is also a bummer to see your tummy blow up like that. If you take those peppermint pills around your meals (or however it is directed), you should really notice a difference.

These two are hillarious! My MIL does yoga and there is this young girl in her class who is very pretty and dainty, according to MIL, and they did some pose and out came quite the sound :eek: This is why I work out by myself at home...! Ab work really does move it all around in there. But hey, we wouldn't be alive if we didn't have gas so it's all good.
