I've been a committed exerciser for many years and work out 6 days a week, alternating your strength/cardio/circuit workouts with a little yoga and Pilates thrown into the mix.
I have always had a weak core and for at least a year have been concentrating on strengthening and defining it. My abs have been steadily improving, but very SLOWLY, and not to the degree I want them to, which is really frustrating me. I do ab work 6 days a week (works better for me than fewer days), alternating traditional, stability ball, Pilates, and yoga within the week.
I know everyone's different, but I was wondering if you have read or seen anecdotally that abs respond more to a mix of core work each week (like I've been doing), or by focusing on one type for a few weeks (e.g., stability ball only), then switching to another (abs from ME only). Would the latter be a better way of improving some of the more difficult moves?
