ab dollies

One of the areas I know I am going to have to work on more than anything after this baby is my abs. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about those ab dollies. Looks like you could spend anywhere from 10's to 100's of dollars on one. I was wondering if they are just a lot of hype. I'm making all kinds of plans. Could that mean d-day is around the corner. My big project for today is making a bedskirt for the crib. I slept last night and feel about a hundred times better. Paula

Paula:

I am in the same boat as you. I just had my baby about 4 weeks ago and since I've been home have seen many infomercials (I've never watched this much TV in my life!) on the Ab Dolly and other similar products. I haven't spoken to anyone who has tried them, but wanted to let you know if you do decide to buy an Ab Dollie ---- you could order 1 for $110 or 2 for $179 (plus shipping) on TV.....or you could go to your local sporting goods store (SportsMart and Big 5, etc.) and they sell for $59. I was about to order one and found this out, so thought I'd let you in on this. I did buy an "Ab Roller" ---- this is VERY difficult and uncomfortable on the hands (wouldn't recommend it!).

Hope to hear from someone who has used the Ab Dollie!

P.S. Congrats on your baby! :)

Thanks for the tip. I am home now waiting to have my baby. I went into preterm labor over the weekend and have been sentenced to bed and breathine ( a miserable drug to stop preterm labor) until I hit 36 weeks. I am at 34 now. I will need Cathe's tapes, an ab dollie etc. more than ever after this baby arrives. Have a wonderful Christmas with your new baby and family! Paula

Yuck I HATE Brethine!!

I was on it last time too, fortunately for less than a week. Sorry to hear about that.

As far as the ab dolly, personally I would get a swiss ball which can be used in a similar manner PLUS you can work on balance and other parts of the body such as inner and outer thighs, butt, and arms....and as an added bonus we used ours when the baby got colicky where I would sit on it and bounce away she LOVED it! Plus they are a lot cheaper at $14-50 at the very most. Walmart sells them but there are tons of online sources too and another plus is there are lots of videos and books you can now get to mix things up a bit.

Stephanie 36 weeks and counting!
