I have a coworker in her mid-50s with whom I've worked side by side for the last 5 years. I adore her. She's like my big sister. Whenever I'm feeling down she lifts me up. Whenever I'm stressing she chills me out. Whenever I need help she's there. Both professionally & personally.
Well, she announced about a month ago she was retiring (god bless the state pension system LOL). Not only is she retiring, she's retiring to Florida. At the time I thought, "good for her!" Now we're 3 weeks away, it's becoming more real every day, & I'm feeling so sad! I'm gonna really miss her & I just don't know what I'll do without her.
OK now I'm getting all teary. What I meant to ask was, what's a good retirement gift for someone who's like family to you? Other than chaining her to her desk & not letting her go........;-) Cost is not an issue here, I'd do anything for her. Any suggestions?
