A weather rant

I guess we're just never happy. Friday, DH got out of work early, called me on the phone while I was at work & was complainig about how hot it was. All I could do was say JEEEZ!!! Stop complaining!

Anyway, I walked to me car to take a crockpot I had used the day before & Good Grief! It was HOT! I had to take my lightweight lab jacket off & cool off for when I went back inside! Here I was looking forward to summer weather. Who was I kidding? I live in Texas!

LOL! No, I don't do too well in the cold. But thanks, Cathy. That's why I'm going up north to visit only in the summer!;-)

I have the same problem, Bunbun. The A/C is on at work, and it's been freezing. Unlike you, I love air-conditioning, but NOT until it is needed. I go through gallons of steaming hot green tea everyday.

I sit with an insulated Starbucks mug filled with warm water. And I make a point of piling on the sweaters until one of the owners finally sees me and realizes he has to warm the place up a bit! He tries--I have to give him credit for that. Just that it's so hard when the damn things blow straight on you all the time.

LOL at how different things can be....

Record heat here in Phx. Major heat advisories. 111 degrees. :)I won't even leave my house today.

And were thinking "Already??? Uggghh..".

NOT complaining though. I prefer heat anyday.

I hope the sun shines for you soon Maximus!!

90 in denver and I am complaining! I didn't want to turn my ac on this early :( I hate ac but it is just to hot! I have to have it on when I work out.

In Massachusetts it didn't get above 50 all last week, rained off and on most days. It rained yesterday, today and is supposed to rain all week!! I wore polarfleece to my son's soccer game yesterday. I have yet to put on a pair of shorts and can count on the fingers of one hand the days I didn't need a jacket or a sweater. We're all getting moldy!!

Marla --

I had to laugh at myself after reading your post. I thought you said "CRACKPOT" in your post and thought to myself -- yep, that Marla probably is on crack :) Except I think it's "pipe" not "pot", but maybe a pipe is too small for ya.

Then I remembered you were a nurse and thought, wow, isn't "CRACKPOT" kindof a derogatory thing to say about a crazy person.

Of course, it's less funny when I realized you said CR-O-CKPOT.

Yep...it's HOT, HOT, HOT in Dallas already. I prefer it to the cold for sure, but it's only May for goodness sake. Jersey in July sounds good about now.

Once again its back down in the 50's here in Ohio. What is up with this ridiculous weather? I've been self tanning since the end of April and have worn shorts one time so far. It was 75 on Saturday and just beautiful, now its cloudy, raining and cold again! ARRRRGGGG!

Shonie, Shame, Shame, Shame on you! Why ever would you correlate illicit drugs with my posts? I'm a good girl! Good gosh!!! The heat is claiming it's first victim!

Arrrgh! I had to revive this thread. It's 48 degrees and raining here in NYC this morning. This is third day in a row that I've woken up to dark and cold and rain. I have only been able to get myself to workout one day so far! Just sleeping in every day and no energy at all, which is really unusual for me. Worse, when I don't work out, I wind up in a really bad mood at work. Ugh. They say it should clear up by tomorrow--it had better!! x(

I'm with you Bunbun, cannot BELIEVE this awful May. I feel like wearing my winter coat today, complete with fur-lined hood. I have to dress light because the damn heat is on at my office. It's all so confusing and depressing. :(

It sucks! I have a freakin TURTLENECK SWEATER on today! What is with that? Here I'm packing my bathing suits for the w/e & yet today I'm dressed like it's November. I did draw the line at socks though. Other than gym socks, I refuse to wear socks again until October.

I AM going on the beach this w/e. I don't care if it's 36 degrees & snowing, I'm going on the beach!

I may be the only one here who PREFERS cool (50's), cloudy and rainy days to hot, sunny, humid summer days. We leave Chicago and go to Victoria for the summers just to escape the incredible heat and humidity in Chicago. The past week in Chicago has been close to my ideal weather-cool, cloudy and in the 50's. I should also add-I burn to a crisp in minutes (with sunscreen), have incredibly light sensitive eyes, and very fair skin. Just thought I would add an alternate opinion.

At least you're not having a Northeaster or Nor'easter as we say up here in New England. It's like a hurricane in terms of the wind and rain, but not as devastating although there are a lot of downed tree limbs, etc. out there. It is very windy and very rainy (the rain was falling sideways for a while this morning) and the temp probably will not go above 50 today (and feel colder with the wind). And, to top it off, this lovely weather system is stalled due to a high pressure area off the coast of Eastern Canada which won't budge. There is rain in the forecast until at next Tuesday! This is not good weather for people trying to keep their eating under control!! And, I am still wearing winter clothes and the heat is still on. Who needs this?

I burn in the summer, too, Benvonwojo, but prefer to hve to stay out of hte sun and still have sun! Rain and cold in the summer just depresses me. :( I was in a turtleneck sweater and wool jacket yesterday--same outfit that I wore in February. No heat here--the AC is going full blast! Management seems oblivious to the fact that everyone is walking around with their coats on. The one good news is that the forecast calls for the sun to return thru the weekend--some rain, but at least some sun, too.

Nancy, how are you feeling? I haven't gotten my energy levels back yet from this stupid cold. Not really sick anymore, but just still not myself. I blame the weather.
