A water dilemma

Here is a problem I have been pondering for a long time. I teach in a school with 13 portable classrooms (basically, small metal boxes with windows). Of course the one I teach in is the furthest from the school. There are no toilets in any of the portables - you have to trek to the school to do that. This might not be a problem except that on any given day, I am teaching six or seven classes, with only 5 minutes in between classes to prep for the next class (not including lunch time).

I have been very negligent in my daily H20 intake because because I cannot get to the bathroom and back in five minutes AND get my room ready for the next class. Extending the between class time is not an option. Of course, I cannot leave the room when the urge strikes either.

I think my voice, my body, and my weight loss efforts are all suffering because of this situation. My principal does not seem to understand the problem. Sometimes I will escort a class back to the school just to use the bathroom, but then I don't have enough time to get back to the room and set up again, and oftentimes, the next class is waiting outside my door.

I have been lucky in that I have not had any UTIs because of this situation.

Are you in a job situation that you cannot get to the bathroom when you need to? How to you handle your water intake? I drink a large bottle when I exercise, but I don't think that's enough.

Thanks for reading my too-long post.
