A Tragedy by Reese777
(A True Story)
One day Lori (aka: Reese777) decided to run at the park (which is an element of this tragedy...). As she ran up the hill, she heard a vehicle coming, so she slowed her pace and moved to the side of the asphalt path so the car could pass. As the vehicle came closer and passed her, she noticed it was a rickety old van; it gave Lori the creeps. Even though she was probably stereotyping the cruddy van, she couldn't help but think it was probably driven by a weirdo, so she focused on the license plate number, trying to memorize it. That is when she first noticed a squirrel starting to cross the road.
The creepy van was traveling faster than it should have been (weirdo) so even though the driver (weirdo) touched his brakes, Mr. Squirrely was unable to navigate around the wheels. Lori watched in horror has the poor squirrel succumbed to the rear driver's side tire.
The van fled the scene as Lori stood horrified by Mr. Squirrely. His little bitty left hind leg was kicking furiously in unison with his rapidly twitching tail. Lori thought "I've become a character in a Stephen King novel."
Lori crept closer to Mr. Squirrely only to find that not only has the creepy van robbed him of his life, but also one of his little front teeth...which was gripping an acorn! Lori reached out and gingerly grabbed Mr. Squirrely by the tail and pulled him to the side of the road so no other cars (creepy or otherwise) could do more harm to him.
Lori was disturbed by this for the rest of the evening.
