A silly question about target heart rate

In the older Cathe videos she has a section where we all count our heart rate and then there is a list of the heart rates acceptable for your age range. Am I supposed to be in the target rate range or in the 85% range? This may be a silly question but I have been wondering about the answer to this question for a while!
 
I think it's really all about where you're comfortable working. I like the higher end because I feel more like I'm working (and I couldn't do Cathe and be at the lower end, anyway). And it will vary from workout to workout, and by how your cardio capacity increases. I think that's why the newer workouts don't focus on heart-rate.

Try doing a search on "heart-rate." I've read some great posts on the subject from the more knowlegable of the forum members.

I think it is just Cathe's way of making you make sure you are not about to keel over. As long as you are in an aerobic range (how could you not be), I don't think it matters.....
