A one bodypart/day rotation idea..anyone done it?

Hi-

I have a new idea for a rotation and am wondering if anyone has tried it...

Its combining 1 body part from the PS series w/ one body part from the ctx series for upper body. For example, the chest portion of PS and the chest portion of CTX. Lower body would be either Leaner Legs OR PS Legs in their entirety. I would do one bodypart/day and have one day of rest per week.

Cardio is 30-45 minutes/day done after weight training 6x/week.

My goal is to build muscle and strength.

What do you all think? Anybody tried it?

Thanks in advance, Lynn

Hi Lynn!
I know DebbieH is doing one body part a day and using PS and CTX for upper body. I think she's doing something a little different for lower body. I believe she said she was starting to see some positive results. I'm going to start doing CTX/PS upper body w/o this week. I don't do a lot of cardio, so I'm going to do more lower body. I have a hard time putting on muscle in the lower half so I'll probably still work legs 2x3 times per week.
I'll let you know how it's going in a few weeks!:D Keep me posted on how it's going for you too, ok?:7
I'm sure Deb will chime in here too!:p

Hey Lynn,

I thought at first you meant using 1 body part from PS, and combining it with a cardio from CTX, but I realized after you were talking about the strength workouts from both.

I was just curious why you want to combine them? Do you not feel like PS is enough on its own? If I am using my maximum weights, I can barely finish the last rep of the last set (or sometimes the second set!), so I can't imagine needing any more on top of that. You're not worried that will be overkill for the muscle?

Anyways, we all have different goals/needs, so maybe you have a different focus. I was just curious as to what your reasoning was because its an interesting rotation. I'll be interested to see what others have to say who've tried it as well.

Good luck with it!

I'm doing this also. I'm working on strength and endurance with the weights. My cardio will range from a 25 minute jog to MIC. I'm also trying to do abs every day. Lower body (I think) will be a combination of BC/ME lower body premixes.

I'm excited to try this new rotation, to try to challenge newer and fresher muscle fibers.

Hi Sherry ( and all-)

I will be anxious to hear how you do with this workout too! How often will you put in ab work? I think I am going to go for 3-4xweek. Also, how long will you do this rotation?

My favorite way to do strength training is to work one body part a day. I love using S & H this way.. doing one body part/day and then tacking on some cardio. But, I am thinking this new rotation might be the way to go for a while.

By doing only one PS body part, I don't get the muscle as fatigued as I'd like. By adding the CTX portion, I can really get in there and fatigue it. This way, I can get strength and endurance in one shot.. Then because it is only 1x/week, there is plenty of recovery time for building that muscle up! Its my new ( and unproven!) theory that it might be the way to build and sculpt at the same time.

Of course, I am going to have to lay off the cheetos and ice cream, if I want to see those (hopefully) newly formed muscles too! ;}

Looking forward to hearing your results!

Happy Lifting! Lynn

Hi All...
Just another variation, Ive been doing PUB and CTX per body part, but since I just came off of Cathes June rotation of one body part a day, Im doing two a day, except for Legs and shoulders which I do each their own day. Today I did PUB back, then CTX back---PUB tri's and CTX tri's, and it kicked my a@#$!!!!

Gotta love that burn--hee hee

Take care
Jayne

Hi Lynn!

(You too Sherry!) Lynn, I am currently doing the one body part per day by combining PS & CTX. I am loving it. I got the idea when Cathe mentioned that she likes to work one body part/day for a half hour. I THINK I read it in her bio??? I have never used this method before and let me tell you, when Cathe says "feel the heat" in the muscle, you FEEL the HEAT! I have not been on the rotation long enough to see considerable results but I do think I see some more definition in my upper body. My legs are very stubborn so I work them at least 2x/week, plus cardio at least 5-6 times. I used to work each body part 2X a week with for instance the PS Series for three days and then a total body tape (MIS, ME, PowerHour) later in the week. Just decided to give this a try to shake things up. I will report back after a few more weeks and let you know what is happening. BTW, this method seems to go sooo fast too. (A half hour and you're done!)

Hi Debbie H-

Do you have the S & H series?

I have the BEST luck doing one body part of the S & H series/day and then tacking on some cardio to that for 30-45 minutes. I saw tremendous gains with this rotation. But, since Cathe suggests not to do this rotation for a really long stretch of time, I am hoping this one might be a nice change.

I love, love doing one body part/day! I am with you on the half hour thing. For some reason, doing one body part for a half hour seems a lot less daunting then doing 2 or 3 body parts in a half hour!

Will look forward to your follow up results!

Lynn

RE: Hi Debbie H-

I use the s&h series this way to.You can really build some muscles with this one.I generally perfer 1 body part a day it is when I see my best results and the hardness of the muscles is great.I never tack any thing on to ps either if I am doing it as a 1 part a day I just lift really heavy and feel really fatigued. But I usually do ps as it is on the tape and do s&h as my one part a day.I just did a week of one part a day with s&h and than did ps as is and took a days rest and am now doing a few days of endurance and than back to 1 part a day.But I just LOVE S&H and don't know how I survived without it.Lots of luck on your rotaion!!

RE: Hi Debbie H-

Hi Sheila-

Thanks for the reply..

I wanted to make sure that I understand your PS rotation.. Do you do only part of PS ( ie chest) one day, then the next day you do shoulders? Or do you for example, the S & H chest portion along with the PS chest portion?

Thanks for the clarification. Lynn

Hi Lynn!

Yes, I have the S&H Series and love it. I have never used it with just the one body part/day though. I am tying to lean out a bit so have decided to give the half hour per body part thing a go & see if it helps. My legs are short and seemed squattier (is that a word?) while doing S&H. I have considered trying S&H for more then 3 weeks to see if they would un-bulk a bit by building all that extra muscle over a longer timespan. Does that make sense? I may give that a try after this rotation. I will keep you posted. Still lovin' what I am doing now. It just fits nice! :7
