Hi all,
I sure am glad to be back from my travels, safe and sound. I had back-to-back-to-back trips between work and the roadtrip so I haven't been around much. I guess DH missed me, because he surprised me the other day. Just thought I'd share the happy moment.
Saturday afternoon, hot and humid on the Gulf coast. DH is mowing the lawn at our cabin on Galveston Bay. We've been away a couple of weeks because of my travel schedule, so the grass was really long. He cut it once earlier while I was doing Muscle Max (there's a workout to kickstart you after a couple of weeks on the road!). So, I thought I'd be nice and help this time around. Don't want DH to collapse in the heat and all.
So I go downstairs, hold out my hands, and ask if he wants help. He shakes his head, "No," and keeps on going. I try telling him it's too hot and he needs a break, but he just keeps on going. Finally I ask why he won't let me help (this is not usually a problem, he's all too glad to share the work). He stops, looks me straight in the face, and says, "You're too pretty."
Those who've met me know that's not really true, but what a sweet thing to say!
Oh, and he did eventually let me help mow, after I explained that he shouldn't get too exhausted with me just back in town and all. ;-)
