A little bit of venting from a "Stupid Mom"

I have 11 DD and DS. DS is not there yet, but DD has mastered the attitude (not all the time, she's generally a really good kid). When it does rear its head - I call her out on it right away. I remind her that I don't treat her that way and she doesn't treat her friends like that so why would she think it's ok to treat ME that way. That's usually enough to get her to stop and apologize.

I have a 17 year old DD and a 16 year old DD...I get the eye rolls, the "you don't know anything...(then why did you ask?????), but I notice they act like they don't listen, but they wil think over what I said and usually (9times out of 10) make the right decision. If they want to ask me a ?, I ask them if they'll listen to the answer, if not, I don't answer. My mother always said to the three of us (I have a brother and sister)"I hope you have kids like the three of you" well...I got them, I also have a 13 year old DS. There are days when I feel like "quitting", But I like to look at it as a challange, it just makes me stronger. Now I have a ?, why don't they eye roll, mumble, etc. to their father???????????? Kay

After reading this thread, I think I can post on the other thread about what we are happy about. Neither my 20 year old DS or 15 year old DD are bad. Worse thing about DS is sometimes he can be very silent. DD worse time was when she was 12, now she is OK.

When do they grow out of it? When they go to college and realize how good they´ve had it!! At least for my oldest. My DD16 is right in the middle of what you´re talking about, but yes, we love her and know it will all end...someday!!

It isn't just girls who do this my 17 year old son and 14 year old son are like this too. I had to tell them today since they are so grown that they know everything and do not want to listen like an adult would not have to then they need to pay for their own things like a grown man does.

I remember those days. Right now you are stupid. When she graduates from college you'll know a little bit more. When she has children, she'll finally realize how smart you really are. And then she will appreciate you. I guess you have at least 10 more years .....
