A-Jock's Turkey-Burner Mish-Mosh

Aquajock

Cathlete
Well, here I am at home with my first official cold of the season - after freezing my @$$ off last night during my aqua class cool-down (it was COLD on the deck) I am now bundled up honking like the mating call of the Wild Canadian Wood Duck, and what do I do with this time?

Come up with a special Thanksgiving Day mish-mosh, of course.

This is one that is designed for maximum cardio and calorie-expenditure, knowing all of the goodies that are going to pass by (and probably through) you a week from today. It is not for the impact-averse, and is best designed for a 5-disc player. If you don't have a 5-disc player it's no tragedy; just make sure you don't get sweat all over the discs as you change them out.

Ready . . .

Set . . .

TURKEY!

CTX 10-10-10 warm-up, kickbox and hi/lo segments
Step Jump Pump hi/lo only add-on premix hi/lo segments 1-3
Step Blast BLASTS 1-3 (use Mix n Match feature for this)
High Step Training ADVANCED cardio only premix (see below)
I-Max 3 BLASTS 1, 7, 3, 6 and 9 IN THAT ORDER (use Mix n Match feature for this) (see below)

Running time: approximately 62 minutes

The High Step Training ADVANCED DVD uses the short high step in the workout. I personally don't have a high step, but I'm able to use the short side of my traditional step instead. Note that the last cardio cycle of HSTA is straddle taps, which I personally need to go to a lower (6" rather than my normal 8") step for. If you need to use a lower step for straddle taps then certainly do so.

Note that I-Max 3 blasts 1 (straddle taps and side jumps onto step) and 7 (my beloved multi-level jacks) are probably safer on a lower step as well; thus you can do HSTA cardio cycle 5 and I-Max 3 blasts 1 and 7 on the lower step; then hit the PAUSE button and raise your step back to a higher level (if desired) for the rest of the blasts. The remaining blasts are step-oriented, so you'll get plenty of use out of your step in this workout.

Enjoy!

So sorry you are feeling under the weather Annette. I hope you feel better real soon.

Thanks for the mish-mosh. :)

I wish my endurance were back up because this definitely looks like my kinda workout. I'll have to definitely save this one.

Thanks Ajock! I need a rip-roaring sweatfest cardio routine for tomorrow so this will surely fit the bill.

My $46 programmable 5 disc changer from ebay has given me a lot of new ways to torture myself. It's been money well spent. Keep those evil mish moshes coming....

thanks much,

Thanks! It looks great. I LOVE your mish-moshes! They have busted my plateau and increased my endurance. You are very creative in an evil genius sort of way!}(

So, A-honk-jock (aka A-quack-jock), can I have my cake and eat it too after this lovely mosh of mish? wah wah wah.....

This looks awesome! Unfortunately I'm still building my collection and only have Imax 3 and Step Blast out of the workouts listed, but I'll print this out for a day when my collection is more complete!

Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly, oh great and wonderful wise mistress of the Mish Mosh. I hope that darn Wild Canadian Wood Duck migrates south soon!

At 32 weeks pregnant, I'm going to have to put it in my notebook for NEXT Thanksgiving (or maybe Easter).

Thanks
Maggie:)

Hey Girlfriend,

I printed this out. Maybe, I will attempt it this weekend. Hope you feel better real soon.

THANKS A-Jock!!! Now I have a plan for my unturkey Thankgiving Day workout. (I'm Vegan)...I don't have a 5 disc player but I promise to be careful with the sweat that will be dripping....:)...I think this wimp might even use a 4" for those straddle taps in HSTA! The rest will be on 6".

Hope you feel better soon. I have been fighting off a cold myself. I think it had me yesterday...but I am a believer of Airborne and feel much better tonight. Can't wait to try this... http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/happy/happy0100.gif[/img]...Carole

Well I did this one this morning and I give it two sweaty thumbs up. I kind of messed up the sequence a little and did the entire step blast challenge instead of blasts 1 - 3, so I skipped the HST part and did Hardcore Extreme starting at Lowmax combo 2 until I had gotten past an hour (and no, I didn't have to do the Kick Max Challenge because that would have killed me for sure!).

This one's a keeper. I'll try to stick to the original plan next time.

Carole,

I just wanted to tell you that I hope you feel better and thank you. You told me about Airborne and I bought it (in bulk at Costco), and I was recently surrounded by people with colds (2 daughters and my dad) and so I took the AB , and so far, so good. The slight stuffiness I had a few days ago is gone! :) I think this is something I will always keep around, especially in the winter when everyone is getting sick!

Also, I was pleasantly surprised that not only was the taste "ok", I actually LIKE it !:p
So thanks again, and Happy Unturkey day to you.:D

This looks good and I actually have all of these DVDs. I'll be printing this out. I was going to run outside on Thanksgiving, but if it's cold this is what I'll be doing! }(

Thanks! I hope you're feeling better! Oh, I'd also like to thank you for your HC-Faux CTX rotation. I just did this rotation and I actually had to buy some new (smaller) pants!! :7 Thank you!

Carole ~ I swear by Airborne as well. In fact, I woke up not feeling well and took some Airborne.

Dallas

A-Jock, you are a genius! I won't be doing it on Turkey day because I'll be running my heart out. (Not literally, I hope! :p ) But I definitely want to give it a try very soon..... Thanks!

Thanks Becky!! I am glad the AB works for you and Dallas. The taste is not bad. I think it is great stuff and I do hope when I wake up on thursday I'll be raring to go for A-Jocks torturous workout! I am also looking forward to my Tofurkey dinner...
:9 :+ :7 ...Carole

I'm contemplating giving this a whirl since I'm off today...I think that's my problem...I'm contemplating it instead of just doing it!
