Aquajock
Cathlete
Well, here I am at home with my first official cold of the season - after freezing my @$$ off last night during my aqua class cool-down (it was COLD on the deck) I am now bundled up honking like the mating call of the Wild Canadian Wood Duck, and what do I do with this time?
Come up with a special Thanksgiving Day mish-mosh, of course.
This is one that is designed for maximum cardio and calorie-expenditure, knowing all of the goodies that are going to pass by (and probably through) you a week from today. It is not for the impact-averse, and is best designed for a 5-disc player. If you don't have a 5-disc player it's no tragedy; just make sure you don't get sweat all over the discs as you change them out.
Ready . . .
Set . . .
TURKEY!
CTX 10-10-10 warm-up, kickbox and hi/lo segments
Step Jump Pump hi/lo only add-on premix hi/lo segments 1-3
Step Blast BLASTS 1-3 (use Mix n Match feature for this)
High Step Training ADVANCED cardio only premix (see below)
I-Max 3 BLASTS 1, 7, 3, 6 and 9 IN THAT ORDER (use Mix n Match feature for this) (see below)
Running time: approximately 62 minutes
The High Step Training ADVANCED DVD uses the short high step in the workout. I personally don't have a high step, but I'm able to use the short side of my traditional step instead. Note that the last cardio cycle of HSTA is straddle taps, which I personally need to go to a lower (6" rather than my normal 8") step for. If you need to use a lower step for straddle taps then certainly do so.
Note that I-Max 3 blasts 1 (straddle taps and side jumps onto step) and 7 (my beloved multi-level jacks) are probably safer on a lower step as well; thus you can do HSTA cardio cycle 5 and I-Max 3 blasts 1 and 7 on the lower step; then hit the PAUSE button and raise your step back to a higher level (if desired) for the rest of the blasts. The remaining blasts are step-oriented, so you'll get plenty of use out of your step in this workout.
Enjoy!
