RE: A great place to buy steps--including high step and...
Regarding shipping - if someone charges more than the actual shipping, it is probably because there are other expenses. I have sold items on eBay, and charge for handling which includes the cost of the shipping materials (bubble envelopes, tape, labels, the stamps for "first class" "media Mail" etc.), delivery confirmation, and the trip to the Post Office. Also, there are fees associated with getting a payment through PAYPAL. I don't mind shipping and handling charges if I know them up front, but when a seller (whether eBay or otherwise) does not disclose the amount in their listing, website or catalogue, then I am weary. I always find it interesting that consumers don't understand the cost of shipping. It is NOT only the actual amount for the item to ship. I really can't afford to "eat" the shipping costs (a lot of vendors cannot either, especially if they have to hire others to package) so I have to pass the costs on to the buyers. If they do not agree to the price, then they don't have to buy. Sorry for the "rampage" but I was really surprised to see the comment about shipping (actual cost vs. "shipping and handling") up here. I have had buyers complain to me about the shipping costs AFTER they won my item on eBay. The time to complain is BEFORE you bid OR just push the back browser button.
My question regarding the High Step is more about the comparable cost with Cathe's High Step, and of course - is the quality the same?? I have never bought through Walmart.com, so I am interested. I have bought through other websites, and have been very happy (LOVE amazon.com). they sell the High step for $55 through Fitness Wholesale. Details:
Features:
step platform measures 16 inches square by 4 inches high
includes 4 risers (each 2 inches) totaling 8 inches
adjust height from 4 inches (platform alone) to 12 inches (with all the risers in use)
includes free Cathe Friedrich Video
maximum weight capacity is 200 pounds
Sounds the same as Walmart's.
