A few Alaska pics

Wow Nancy! Those pics are too beautiful for words. It looks just amazing. One of the doctors in my office went to Alaska about a month ago and said it was an awesome experience.

Oh, by the way, love your outfit in the bike riding pic!

Nancy, I am totally jealous! Where are you in the glacier pics? (Meaning where are you hiking?) We really want to do that - I would love to hear more! :)

We were on the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau. It's quite easy to arrange a hike of the glacier. All the cruise ships offer them as excursions, or you can arrange it directly with the vendor. The hikes vary from 1 hour to 2 hours or 4 hours. The helicopter ride offers some of the best views of the glaciers.

Your guides have a tent on the glacier where they receive helicopter groups all day long.

Wow Nancy! Lucky you! Great, great pix! It was nice to see a pic of hubby too! :7 Looks like red is the preferred color in all the pix with coats? Does everyone wear red? I see even the helicopter pic they all have red on. Thank you so much for sharing. You are too cute. (BTW, RED is MY color too!)

Great pictures Nancy! When DH and I went 20 years ago, we were guests of my parents. It was wonderful of them to take us, but we couldn't do anything really neat like hike on a glacier. We drove up to the Mendenhall and took a short walk. Are the Bald Eagles still as common as crows along the waterfront? I thought Juneau was a lovely town. Thanks so much for sharing.
