A faux P90X using Cathe

I have been reading alot about P90X and have considered buying it, but its very expensive and I'm not sure I want to spend the $ right now. In the mean time, I love Cathe and have gotten great results with her. I have all her workouts and have researched on these forums P90x rotations, and was hoping someone could critique the rotation I've worked up- a faux P90X using Cathe. Any and all imput is more than appreciated:)

Here are my questions-
For leg work should I be using workouts with light weights, like the ones I listed?

for upper body muscle strength should I do push/pull so that I do one set of excersises for chest and then one set for back, and continue that thru all the excersises? (does that make sense?- I hope:) )

TIA,
Deanie:)

Deanie,

You're off to a great start with this rotation. I've been mulling over my post-P90X rotation, using all Cathe's, with the exception of yoga. I'll use some power yoga dvds that I have collecting dust for those.

I have some ideas popping in my brain about how to get Cathe's workouts even closer to the P90X rotation than you currently have. It involves using premixes from the GS series, and the new dvds (yay!). I don't have time to put it all together yet, but I will get back to you as soon as I can.

And yes, the push/pull technique is the way to go in some of these workouts, as is supersetting.

BBL,
Sandra

Great Sandra,
I can't wait to see what you come up with!!:)

Thanks,
Deanie

I'm looking forward to it as well Sandra! Deanie, I did use the GS in a rotation once alternatin each chest exercise with a back exercise and so on. For some reason this added a lot of time to the workout b/c I was haveing to stop, go to the chapter points, rest a bit longer to heavy up, blah, blah, blah...BUT, I DID see strength gains. I didn't measure but I could visually see a difference and I was able to increase the weights used with good form. Anyway, I can't wait to see what you ladies come up with. I will be watching with interest!

does look similar to p90x rotation except that on the fifth day after yoga, is legs and back. i sometimes do a cathe circuit but doing pulldowns in place of upper body(band w/door stop)
some others would be drillmax,mm,me,bodymax, circuitmax, highstep challenge
6th day is kb

I'm just bumping this up because I couldn't find it earlier. I know a few others are looking for it too!
