I keep a food stash in my drawers here at work. (Cheaper and healthier that way.)
I came into work last Thursday an opened my drawer. There was oatmeal all over the place, I looked a little closer and
saw brown spots all over everything in the drawer. I was like "eeeeek a danged mouse has been in my drawer!!!!!! I threw away everything in the drawer Canned goods, coffee cup, can opener...I mean everything. I was on my hands and knees scrubbing with bleach water, listening to my co-workers gag. The little bugger ate:
2 packs of oatmeal, 1/4 pack microwave popcorn and 3 packs Taco Bell fire sauce (that is one bad mouse.)
In the mean time the some folks on the other end of the hall came down after they heard what was going on and said they had been invaded earlier in the week. So, I'm thinking "why didn't someone give the rest of the floor some kind of warning?"
So we get to comparing notes. From them he ate:
microwave popcorn
cookies
jello cups
packs of salt
chocolate anywhere he could find it and..
Neosporin. Nope, I didn't stutter...Neosporin and half a tube at that.
We talked to the facilities folks and they said we need to start storing our food in storage boxes, preferably metal if possible.
Also we need to get rid of any cardboard boxes that our computers and parts are shipped in. Mice apparently like to eat the glue on the boxes.
Fast forward to today. I open the draw I keep lotions and stuff in and that little bugger has been there too. The mouse has some kind of
wicked drug addiction. It ate my cough drops! Ate most of one of them and nibbled on quite a few more. This started another cleaning frenzie, people were throwing away all food and drugs.
So I'm like, should I be scared? After all there's a hot-sauce eating mouse running around here high on glue, with the munchies eating every
piece food in sight and he's probably pretty buff since he's hopped up on steroids. Doesn't Neosporin have steroids in it? Even if it doesn't the danged thing is self-healing after
sucking down half the tube.
