A cow ball? I saw it profiled on tv as a new piece of equipment

It is basically a weighted medicine ball with a cow bell like handle. Used to raise up & down & sideways, I suspect as a core exercise. I have been searching the internet & have not been able to find it. Any information you can provide would be helpful. Love you & my sister & I have a huge library of your tapes & DVD's. Thank you.

Not Cathe but I think you might be describing a kettle bell (not sure if it's one word or two?). If you google it, you should see a picture of one and figure out if that's what you saw. If it is a kettle bell, there are a number of people on the forums who have posted how much they love working out with them. You could do a search there too for more ideas. HTH! (If I'm wrong, I'll apologize in advance for wasting your time!!)

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

Not Cathe, but a HUGE Kettle Bell Fan!!!!
I go to a "Kettle Bell Boot Camp," and I love it so much I am asking for a bunch for Christmas. Kettle Bells work the core, the legs, the butt, and abs. It is a total workout. Evidently they have been around for years, but are just now getting attention again. Look up "Russian Kettle Bells" and you will find a ton of information.

They sell them at Dicks Sporting Goods. I have only recently heard of them from a man who sat next to me on a flight to NY. He was on his way to the Howard Stern radio show to talk with HS about this workout. He said he has trained the secret service. Someone does have a workout DVD, I saw this on a show like Hollywood Insider or Extra.

Sounds like a kettlebell (I've seen it as one word). (But cow ball is pretty funny!)

You can find more info on them at www.artofstrength.com and www.dragondoor.com .

www.performbetter.com is having a 15%-off sale on them right now, with very low shipping costs (like other weight equipement, kettlebells can cost a lot to ship).

Target and Dick's Sporting Goods also carry the GoFit brand (which you can read about here: www.gofit.net (I find that Target carries the lighter weights, while Dick's carries a wider range of weights). They also carry some beginner/intermediate workouts by Sarah Lurie that are pretty good.

Recommended starting poundage for most women is 18# (the GoFit brand doesn't have that size, though, so either a 15# or 20# will do).

HTH!

Thank you so much!! I was beginning to think I was crazy. I see all the other replies which I greatly appreciate. I wanted to get one for christmas. Can't wait to start using it.
