a bit disapointed with gym style

i did this morning "biceps, shoulders and back". It's pretty short.... I am use to her last serie of BM2, DM, LI and B&G. they have premixes and feel worth the cost. With gym style... it feels that they should be cheaper. Anyhow, I wish I waited for the new serie because with all the premixes and 4 workouts... getting so much more for the money

what do you guys think. Gym Style worth having? I thought they would be so much more. It saus 62 min but i think it was 50 including warm up and cool down. I am spending lots of money and workouts and try to do it smnartly and I feel I should not have gotten Gym Style. I like Muscle Max... it feels longer and full of variety.

Just me? convince me that GS is worth it :)

I really like the GymStyles. That said, I do go for Muscle Max more and the Pyramids, and ooh, Power Hour, but I still enjoy them.

Well, I do all the Gym Styles and I love them. I've been focusing on them lately, doing each one once a week, and am getting amazing results in strength and definition.

I don't remember which one, but you're right, one of the GS workouts is shorter than it says on the cover. To me it's still a good workout -- I'm good and tired by the end!

Anyway, for me they are worth it!

Hmm..
I think the GS are some of the tuoughest.. with something like 12 sets for chest and whatnnot..
Ive been doing the back one this month as well and I think it's pretty thorough. I even add a few extra sets cuz I like to overwork it :)

I think the GS series is totally worth it! Just think, for 50 minutes you are intensely working only 3 muscle groups (or 2 with Chest & Triceps) ... with Muscle Max you are working 7! MM does go faster because you are usually only doing one set per exercise ... when I got the series, I just did MM all the time and could match Cathe's weights. But when I went to BSB, THAT was a wake-up call.

Keep on with the Gym Styles, and add in Muscle Max ... you will see some very nice strength gains.

I'm sorry you didn't feel like you got your money's worth with the Gym Style workouts. It can be so disappointing when our expectations aren't satisfied.

>Just me? convince me that GS is worth it :)

Personally I love these workouts. Even the timesaver premixes leave me feeling fried. Are you sure you put your all into it? Maybe you need to increase your weights. Or maybe this workout just isn't your cup of tea. That's okay -- to each his own ;) .

Why don't you set the GS workouts aside for a bit and come back to them later, or try them in a rotation and see if that makes a difference for you.

I've gotten great results with GS. If your muscles aren't fried, try heavier weights.

I love to put the 2 upperbody timesavers back to back for a complete heavier upperbody day.

If you don't like them, you could probably sell them and recoup some of your money and buy something that is more your style.

Maggie:)

I think the GS series is excellent. I like the focus on just a couple of body parts and I wouldn't want them to be any longer. I don't have that much time to workout so can rarely do the whole of BM2, etc.

I'm not that bothered about the running time of a DVD as long as I know I'm getting a good workout and I certainly feel that's the case with GS.

For results I think GS Seties is the best on the market - You can always do it X2!;-) Seriously- you are obviously in peak shape so may I suggest heavier weights + Silver Dyna Band (or heaviest you can find)... and YES I have actually done GS x2 but only when I use it as a 1 body part per day rotation.

I love Gym Styles. If it's not enough for you, add some cardio. Go for a 30 min jog or a bike ride. Add some of Cathe's step. Or }( }( do more than one of the GS workouts back to back.

Do all three in a row, then tell me that you don't feel worked ;-)

Like Ronne said, I think you need to concentrate on the content of the DVD as opposed to how long it is. Quality over quantity and all that. Maybe split sets aren't for you though. That's your call.

Hi,

I just commented on another thread what a good workout GS are. They are so versetile. You can lift the same number of reps as Cathe to build strength and lean muscle mass, or you can go heavy and do fewer reps to build strength. Maybe try a 3 week rotation just using GS. I think you would be surprised at the gains. Because I've been pushed for time lately, I did both upper splits in one day over the weekend. That was another difficult way to incorporate them into your rotation. You can also add in some pull/chin ups between body parts, that will fatigue the muscles.

gym style is one of my favorite series by cathe. i use it religiously and have seen amazing results from it. i don't think its short either. an hour is plenty of time if you are lifting heavy and putting 100% effort into it. Sorry you don't like the series. Everyone is different. I don't like the pure strength series too much. you could sell them on ebay if you want to get rid of them.

Well, GS is my fav workouts.
Don't be fooled by the length..
They are tough if you push them.
I feel these evry time i do them if i lift to capacity..

Give m a shot.
Oh, did you try imax 3..
HEEHE..

I'm another fan of GS. I have seen gains in strength and definition. I go as heavy as I can on all sets. I usually do these workouts on weekend mornings and usually do some cardio in the afternoons. I actually use this series more than Muscle Max. I want to try doing all 3 in 1 day someday. I love, love, love this series.

I'm another fan of the Gym Styles, mostly because I like that it utilizes the resistance band. That thing is an amazing addition to a workout (not to mention torture!)

Well, I just ordered gym style and am expecting it to arrive today. I just did pyramid upper body this morning and liked it, but I hope I'm not dissapointed with the gym style. I also love Muscle Max and Muscle Endurance that comes with the Boot Camp on the same DVD. I was just looking for a split routine and was hoping Gym STyle was it. I will let you know soon.:)

I like Gym Styles, but the chaptering is sometimes just aweful. Some of the premixes are unusable, IMO, because of it.

There are some unique moves that Cathe introduces in GS and MM that I really like: like the 'dumbell passing plié' squat move.
