9 Year Old Cathe-ite!

The other day my 9 year old daughter asked me to show her how to do a pike on my new stability ball. (I recently replaced my old one which was lower quality and had somehow become punctured.) I showed her and she started "playing around" on my ball. At first her knees were bent and she couldn't really do it but I told her the trick of concentrating on lifting her butt in the air.

Now, my daughter is not very athletic so this isn't the sort of thing to come easily for her. She's thin but very bookwormish. She also gets easily frustrated so I didn't make it out to be a big thing - just goofing around on the ball.

Last night she brought the ball upstairs to show me her pikes! I must say, after a little more practice she'll be ready to join you as a background exerciser! ;-) I'm so proud of her for sticking with and trying over and over. Maybe this will spark an overall interest in fitness (I can only hope).

Just thought you'd enjoy this cute story.

Regards,
Sue

YES YOUR HISTORY IS VERY CUTE.YOU MUST BE VERY PROUD.MAYBE SHE WILL NOT BE A STAR OF FITNESS BUT WITH HER PERSEVERATION SHE WILL BE ABLE TO DO EVERYTHING SHE WANTS.

Sue, it's funny to read this. Today my 9 yr. old was attempting to do the ab work in C&W. She isn't the most coordinated either, but she sure was trying. Finally she stopped and said, "Cathe's a killer she's hurting my tummy!" I laughed, because when I get winded (from Bootcamp)I always say to my kids, "Cathe's killing me!"
