8 days until lasik surgery

I'm excited and scared. In 8 days I'm having wavefront lasik surgery to both eyes. Presently I can see 2" without my glasses on and I've been wearing glasses for 20 years.
Today I walked my daughter to school while pulling my son in the sleigh (snow is over a foot deep). It's minus 20 degrees Celsius here today. As I got into the house my glasses fogged completely...in fact they kept fogging on the walk...imagine walking in winter with visibility!
For those who have had lasik surgery, how soon were you able to get back into your workout routine? I'm used to doing 6 intense Cathe workouts a week (usually 70 to 80 minutes a day). I'm wondering when it'll be okay to go hard. What did you find?
Any recommendations on how you washed your hair...I've been told no showers for a month after the surgery.
I've also been told eye drops every hour while I'm awake...any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Don't be scared, it's no big deal! I had it done about 6 weeks ago. It is awesome! I was able to start working out 72 hours after at my doctor's recommendation. As far the shower, I think they just said try not to get your eyes wet for a week. He only said not to take a shower the day of surgery (after the surgery) and the day after. I was just very careful not to get my eyes in the water when I took a shower for about a week after. It's not as hard as it seams. I did have to do the drops every hour for the first couple of days, then for the following week they were once every two hours.

I was -5.00 and -5.25. I have 20/20 now. You are going to love it.

I have no advice, but i just wanted to say good luck! i hope you heal quickly and everything goes well;-)

Me and hubby and been discussing this seriously. And our new insurance starting next month will help pay for it. Let me know your results definitely. I want to do it, but the thought that if soemthing goes wrong I could be blinded for the rest of my life really scares me. Let me know~

I had lasik almost 4 years ago and it was the best thing I have ever done. I wore glasses since I was in 3rd grade and wasn't able to see the big "E" at the top of the eye chart since I was 12. I wore contacts for the longest time since my glasses were so thick even with the new technology and reduced thickness. My contact lenses were -6.75 if that tells you how blind I was. Anyway, I was seeing 20/20 the next day! I went to a movie the next day and was screaming I CAN SEE!!! People thought I was a freak, but to me it was a miracle! I still see 20/20 and haven't had any problems.

You can take a shower, but you just don't want water getting into your eyes for the first day or two. Also, will be able to workout in a couple of days. It's just that during the first day or two, you don't want anything to accidently move the corneal flap while it's healing. The drops are no big deal. Your eyes will be dry initially and the drops really help. Just ask your doctor what he/she thinks about working out, showers, etc.

Enjoy being able to see!
