7 Day Eat Clean Challenge!!

I will be the first to admit -- I DO NOT eat clean, nor do I want to. I LOVE cheeseburgers with bacon and barbeque sauce and jalenpenos. Or, or mexican food with lots of cheese and sour cream. And of course any kind of chocolate dessert -- choc. peanut butter milkshake, or a fudgey brownie with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge on top!!

But the past week or ten days, my eating has been OUT OF CONTROL. I am eating more bad than good, and a larger quantity of food. I honestly don't have a desire to change my eating habits to 100% clean for the rest of my life -- I would rather carry a few extra pounds, and be able to eat mexican food and desserts.

I just feel like I need to shock my system back in the other direction, so I am giving myself a 7 Day Eat Clean Challenge.

From Sunday to Saturday, I am going to eat all good, no bad! Nothing fried, no dessert, no full-fat cheese, no soda, nothing white [bread, pasta, sugar, etc.]. I m going to eat whole grain carbs, fresh fruit, lots of veggies, lean protein, and my goal is 60 ounces of water each day.

Wish me luck -- it's not going to be easy for me, but I think I can do anything for 7 days.

Anyone want to join me?

I'm all for it, This past week was horrible for me (I guess it could of been worse..).
I am just finishing up W5 of BFL. I need to get back on track.

I also need some help getting back in the right direction. I weighed myself this morning and gained. Yuck. I will join you. :)

I am in, but may have a delayed start.
That is, if the kids "surprise me" with breakfast in bed again, I'll start AFTER that meal. I'll put healthier foods in plan sight for them and hope for the best. However, if they do regular pancakes...you know.

Count me in, too. I recently read Tosca Reno's book and have been trying to apply it to my eating habits. I've probably been at it for about 3 weeks now and I must say that a healthy breakfast and snacks throughout the day are definitely making a difference! I used to have that mid-afternoon "bloat" feeling every day on my way home from work, but it's virtually non-existent now (as long as I eat at least every 4 hours or so).

That being said, I'm running out of ideas for different foods (I can only eat so much oatmeal, ya know?). I also have a serious addiction to peanut butter (I eat the organic all-natural kind, but I still eat WAY too much of it). I'm worried that if I don't work in some variety, I might fall back into my old eating pattern - YIKES!

My biggest problem is planning enough in advance in order to ensure that I have good food on hand w/out a lot of extra work involved. That and letting food go bad in the fridge, which seems to happen on a regular basis. :(

I'll give it a go but like the other poster said about breakfast in bed tomorrow. My DS usually makes me breakfast but I did request a fruit salad. I am not a big eater in the a.m. My DH is making me Lemon bars for dessert for dinner also so...I will plan on Monday and go one extra day. Maybe we could give some ideas for planning and stuff.

I've been eating healthy for quite awhile now, but not as clean as I'd like. I've been following The Eat Clean Diet for two weeks now (not 100%....more like 95%) for 2 weeks and feel fabulous. I really see a difference in how my clothes fit and in my energy level. But, I know there will be days when I will "cheat" (I really hate that word), because that's life....there will always be celebrations, tempations, etc). But, I have decided that my personal challenge is to eat clean MOST DAYS!!!!! So will I have cake now and then?...of course.....drink now and then?....of course. But, at least it won't be everyday, just once in awhile days. So this means that I must always have a large abundance of fruit, vegetables and lowfat protein in the house. I think I mess up when I haven't stocked up on my "power foods."

Count me in!

The only caveat I have is may I please have one soda per day?

It is my major source of caffeine, not counting my sugar free Red Bull.

I really need that 60 oz of water. Does this amount included amount consumed during our workouts or the amount we should consume, not taking into account our workouts?

I ate 5 cookies before bed last night and I feel terrible today.

I already began a food diary this morning and like one of the nice ladies posted here, I am going to have my husband look at my diary daily. I am going to explain what Eating Clean and Portion Control are so he can look over my diary with some knowledge.

I am lucky to have a supportive husband who never is critical of me, but will help me or give me his opinion when I ask for it. And he thinks I am still beautiful after all these years (trust me, I am not).

Thank heavens I love egg whites (and my dogs love the yolks which I give them since their vet said dogs do not develop cardiovasculr plaque except perhaps a very minimal amount).

I am so glad you posted this and again, count me in.

RE: Sorry

I could've written your post, and cooking and collecting cookbooks is my hobby:eek: ;( . I don't EVER see myself going "clean" in the way that it's meant around here -- lol! But count me in for your week long challenge!

Count me in too, I believe there are only 88 days until the
Road Trip. Who knows, maybe after the 7 days of clean eating we will feel so good about ourselves that we will continue for another 7 days and then another 7 days and so on...
