I got to quickly read over everybody from yesterday...Congrats Kim. Doesn't it feel great to have completed STS!!!
We are expecting a cold front today...Its going to be 90 instead 105:p. It is sad how much I am looking forward to that 90 degrees.

We are busy busy here. Just getting home in time to eat shower and bed pretty much. When it gets like this my dh starts telling me maybe to cut back on the workouts and I say No No No! I am still on my recovery week so this is not really a hard week anyway. I am filling the weight days with yoga and doing cardio and abs on the other days. That is why I am having a little extra time in the morning to post!

The critters in the garage sound like fun Gayle, I love the catch and watch grow a bit and then release. :D That is a good way to teach your kids that things like that do want to be back in their natural place. You are such a fun Mom!

Chrissy, How was the concert at the beach. That sounds so cool. We do not have things like that around here. There are no beaches anywhere close. So it would have to be a concert in the park and we are about an hr from anywhere that a well known band would want to play at. But that is the price I have to pay for country livin'.

Cendrine I did not know your recovery week was already over. I am really sonsidering the circuit workouts for the next 2 week until we start the June rotation but I also thought about revisiting meso 1 for the first week and then meso 2 the second week! decisions decisions.

Jo, Measured, Kim Mary To everyone I am forgetting Sorry it is early! Hope all is going grand!

To work I go!

Rachel

Good morning, Rachel. At least a lot of WORK means a lot of PAYING CUSTOMERS, right? Let's hope so!

I have to be super quick. I've been up since 6:30, but I've been working on the gifts I'm taking for some friends for the RT since then. I didn't workout yet, because I'm heading to the outside trail for my long run of 8 miles this morning. I've moved my long runs from the weekend to sometime during the week...it's just easier for me to log the longer mileage then because my kids are usually occupied week day mornings at Rec.

I'll check back after my run and shower, later this AM!

ROCK YOUR DAY, TODAY, GALS!

Gayle

Hi Everybody!

I did Imax 3 today. I am soaking wet! Enough said! LOL!

Kim, congrats on finishing STS! You did it!

Chrissy, how was the concert?

Rachel, I hope you get to enjoy the 'cooler' weather... 90 is about what it has been here, give or take a few degrees. The kids are just loving the pool in this weather! I was supposed to be on recovery week this week, you had that right, but I decided to get going on circuits, because I had to do my last sts week all crunched together over the weekend and Monday and Tuesday before our trip to San Diego. So if I had taken a proper recovery week I would have rested from muscle work almost two weeks, and I decided that I didn't want that, thus, the three weeks of circuits instead of two... It's working me hard, I'm not used to no breaks any more! LOL!

Galye, I'm glad it's you running 8 miles and not me! I'm usually good and ready to stop at 6! Hope your run goes well! Such will power!

Just to let you all know, I'm doing well on our challenge, haven't even had a shake or protein bar all week! Super clean! It feels good to feel back in the routine! I'm experimenting this weekend, making some crustless quiches, so I have something quick to eat for breakfast and stay off the protein shakes even longer.

Ok, gotta get the day rolling.

Hi all!

Hey guys. 8 mile long run is DONE!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!! I felt AWESOME the entire time, although that last mile or so is ALWAYS tough, no matter what distance I run! LOL I could run 8 or 2, and that last 1 mile is always hard....it's a mental thing!!!! For my long runs, my whole goal is to go out the whole distance with no walking and with NO REGARD to my time. That's a hard one for me, since I'm so competitive and 'need' to beat my previous time every run. But I'm really trying for my long runs to JUST RUN!

Cendrine, I have a recipe for Egg White Quiches and I think, with your suggestion, I am going to make a batch tomorrow to last a few days. I've had 1 shake per day this week, but when I make these quiches I will eat that instead.

OK....off to shower.

OH! Yesterday's bounty from the farm:
green and yellow string beans
Swiss Chard
1 zucchini
1 yellow squash
2 cucumbers
1 sweet onion
SOUNDS YUMMY!!! I'm thinking about how I want to use them all. Perhaps another soup???

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm really busy at work so didn't have time to get back on yesterday. Anyway, today is rest day for me and tomorrow I'll move on to Disc 16. I'm gong to have to get busy cleaning my house this weekend as I have company coming from CA next week for a week (Cendrine my girlfriend lives in Laguna Niquel). I'm excited because we'll get to go do some touristy things that we haven't done in a while and hopefully the weather will be in the low 80's. My GF has never been to Seattle before.

CONGRATULATIONS KIM!!!!! Don't you feel great? It's like we're all coming across the finish line! You can imagine us cheering you on the sidelines!!! Enjoy your recovery week!

Rachel, we are finally up to 80 today! Yeah! I commend you for keeping up your workouts when you're this busy! But like I always tell people who asked me how I do it - it's just like brushing my teeth; it's part of my daily routine! YOU GO GIRL!

Cendrine, back from a post the other day. I'm thinking I might buy the carpet cleaner from Costco and then I'll have one and I can haul to my moms. I'm glad the kids are having a fun summer! I'm envious of everyone's nice weather...but I do think ours has finally arrived! Imax 3 is MY FAVORITE of the Imax's! I LOVE THAT WORKOUT!

Gayle, I wanted to ask you about your trail run? (I'm so jealous of you guys running!) I wish I could do it with you! Are you running on a paved trail or dirt or gravel? Now you guys have two more weeks until the road trip?

Okay, I need to go get going. (Did we lose Mary?)

Good morning everyone,
I finished week 3 of M3. One more week. I am so excited. Today I did disk 33. Great workout. worked hard & pushed myself to failure. Boy do I feel pumped & strong. :D. Tomorrow I'm set to do plyo for my cardio day. somewhere I need to work in another ab workout.

Congrats Kim on finishing STS. Good job.

Cendrine I know what you mean about a cool front at 90. Here we get excited when the weather dips below 100. We've had 26 100+ days & in July we've only gone below 100 2 days. Crazy thing is you do get used to it after awhile. Go figure.

To everyone else, have a great day. I need to get to work.

OK! Is it just measuredoak, with one week of STS left, ladies. I CAN'T BELIEVE WE'VE DONE IT!!!!

Jo, the trail is about 2 miles from my house. I drive there (although I've thought of running TO it and then ON it and then HOME! lol) and off I go. It's pretty wooded, and it follows a creek. There are some homes for the first 2 or 3 miles whose backyards butt up against the trail. After the first 3 miles though, it winds further into the woods and the homes are few and far between. There are some horse farms that I LOVE looking at as I run by them. I do admit, however, that I do get a bit freaked out at times when there isn't anybody in sight on the path since it winds. I peak over my shoulder every now and then to make sure I'm not being 'hunted' (lol) or close to being run over by a bike. I like to run in the MIDDLE of the path so that neither foot/leg is on an angle, and that makes me a target for bikers trying to get around. It's gravel for the first mile, then it's paved and topped with gravel here and there. When you get to the 5 mile mark or so (maybe the 6), my friend says it becomes REALLY rocky with bigger rocks....but I usually run to 4 or 5 and turn around and repeat as necessary. There are mile markers posted here and there, but I like my running GPS because I'm OCD! lol (wow!!! How's THAT for answering your question about the trail. lol). It's beautiful, really, and the sounds of birds and stuff is AWESOME!!!

OK...DS is making himself lunch...he's having a scrambled egg ON a hot dog. Go figure! LOL

Gayle

Measuredoak, I'm looking back and see you coming!!! You're so close, can you hear the cheers? The end is within sight! My goodness, are you in Arizona or some place like that? Years ago, we lived in Arizona and remember it being 122 on the 4th of July! We used to play golf when it was like 110! Crazy huh? Well, stay warm! :p

Gayle, you be careful! One of my trails is like that and when I used to run on it my stepson would go along with me and ride his bike. I always thought I could out run anyone that might come after me but I wasn't taking any chances. Our area is pretty safe, it's an equistrian area, but heavy on the trees and since we get so much rain here, the trees grow like weeds so it's more of a jungle! :D

I'm having a great day! It's 87 and so I found an excuse to go do some errands...err, at the mall :)p). Okay, back to work!

Nice job on the run, Gayle! You are awesome!

Glad to hear your weather is getting warmer, Jo! I'm hoping it is going to stay that way until my visit, I remember last year all I had packed were short sleeve things and only one pair of jeans, but it was cold. We ended up going to the mall to get me something warm to wear...LOL! I'll pack with that in mind this time! Your girlfriend lives just about 15 freeway minutes away from me! If you ever go visit her, you gotta let me know and we can meet up here as well.

Measuredoak, doesn't it feel great to be so close to the finish line! Way to go!

Circuit workout for me tomorrow. Have a great night all!

So here's something interesting I forgot to tell you all. My biceps are the sorest they've EVER been after doing Disc 15 the other day! WHAT DID I DO DIFFERENT?? I dunno! It's a mystery! I like it! Lovin' the DOMS!

Cendrine, we have an office in Anaheim (it's on S Disneyland Drive). In 2007 & 2008 I was there a week a month. Last November was my last trip down there and then due to the economy and cost cutting I haven't traveled this year. So, if I can get down there for business or pleasure, I will definitely want to hook up with you!! One way or another we will meet! :D But it looks like you're going to get here before I get there! I do hope the weather will be good for you! You can usually depend on August to be good, but last year we did have a cool August.
