Good morning everybody! Happy Sunday. Doing anything fun today? Relaxing?

I just got done with today's workout.....disc 10 Chest, Shoulder, Bis. YIKES! The disc is ALWAYS so much MORE INTENSE the second time thru, isn't it??? WOW!

Today, we have nothing on the calendar. We ran a few small errands last night so we could just hang out today. The boys will probably have some friends over, which frees me up to continue with my scrapbooking project.

BBL to check in on you all!

Gayle

Good Morning Everyone!!! Well this fever interputed my one rep max recalcs. Last night I thought for sure I would be well enough to workout today. Definetly not the case. I am sicker today than I was yesterday. Perhaps I should have stayed up til midnight cleaning the house. Hope I am back into the swing tomorrow.

Hi Everyboday,

Hope all is going well today!!!!

Soon2bfit-Sorry to hear you still are not feeling well today. Relax and let your body heal before starting retesting. No house cleaning for you today!!!

Gayle-I don't think the best of us could keep up with a bunch of energized kids playing lazer tag!! Thumbs up on going 3 rounds

OK, I confess, I had a BIG piece of apple pie with lots of ice cream last night:eek::eek::eek:. The smell of the pie cooking got to me. I was like a ravenous dog (not quite that bad, but bad). I'm heading out this morning for another walk with Toby, and then plan on coming home to a treadmill run with my Cardio Coach. Not going to let the guilt of the pie sitting heavy in my belly get me down, NO WAY!!! I do have to stop this pattern though. I eat pretty healthy all week, and then endulge 1 day during the weekend. I feel that I blow all the hard work I've achieved during the week, in one day. Definitely a pattern I'm working on breaking. I did send the leftover pie home with dad!!!

Jo-I may have to shelve that mint chocolate pie for awhile. I love mint & chocolate, DO I NEED TO SAY MORE:eek::eek::eek:. After seeing what my son went through with his migraines, I feel sad that you have to go through them as often as you do. Here's hoping that a cure is just around the corner for everyone that is affected.

Kim-I start Disc 7 for the 1st time tomorrow. Tell me the pushups aren't as bad as I'm anticipating (this is where you could fib slightly, and tell me they're a piece of cake, or should I say APPLE PIE!!) Ha Ha:eek::eek::eek:

Chrissy-Hope you're feeling good today after that tough workout yesterday. Sore muscles can sure slow us down!

Well I am just finishing my 2nd cup of coffee, and I'm hearing the birds chirping outside, so I guess that's my cue to getting moving.

HAVE A GOOD ONE EVERYBODY, AT LET'S HAVE A GOOD STS WEEK..

MARY

Meet my friend at the park and we did a nice 3.5 mile run. Had to be careful running as it's pretty icy in spots. Should try and get abs done later but got to get ready for church right now. Have a family birthday tonight but maybe this afternoon. Good job on those who are up and working out alredy!!

Mary- thanks for asking. I am actually feeling good today. Just slightly sore, but still able to function. It's nothing compared to last time. So I did improve:D.

I am supposed to rest today but I feel like a step tape today. We'll see.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi Everyone,

I am taking my second rest day today. I felt sluggish all week and not my usual energetic self with a lurking sore throat and such. So I decided to take it easy and I think I feel better today. Sometimes it's just in my head...:)

I have noticed a pattern, that I was wondering about if you have noticed too. Every new week when I start a new meso week, my legs end up causing me trouble as in mayor DOMS for days after. The second week around it is not as bad. How do you deal with that? It's startiing to get a little old with me... I am not a bath person, but am seriously considering getting Epsom Salt and just soaking on leg days. Interestingly enough I don't have this problem with upper body disks... What do you guys think?

Soon2bfit, I'm sorry you are still sick. Some bad bug has been making the rounds. When it hit me it took me three weeks to get better and I ended up getting antibiotics. I wish I'd have gone to the doctor sooner. My husband went through three rounds of antibiotics before he got better....
Don't wait too long on the doctor's visit if you think it can be fixed by an antibiotic....

Mary, I think indulging once a week is ok, at least I try to tell myself that... I do need to specify to self that one meal a week is ok , if I told myself one whole day, I would not do so well... Apple pie is yummy though! I found a really healthy recipe, it still has calories of course, but it's all healthy calories with a non baked crust made from nuts and dates. It is surprisingly scrumptious and I don't feel so bad making it because all the ingredients are clean. Let me know if you are interested. I try to use recipes like these to indulge without going over board.

Have a nice sunday, all and have great workouts, for those of you who are doing them today!

Cenedrine,

Do the Epsom Salts Baths!! They feel sooooo good! You can do a light stretch after. I am finding that they are definetly helping my soreness

Cendrine,

Definitely would like the healthy apple pie recipe. I love trying new recipes!! We get together with friends quite often, and I am always selected to bring the desserts. I think I need to switch to heathier versions though. My goal this week is to eat very clean. My one-meal free day has worked into a full-day freebie, and it's just not working for me either :mad::mad::mad:!!!

I am not a bath person, but am attempted to try the epsom salt bath at least once to see if it relieves leg tension. I just started back running, so my calves and overall legs are very sore and tight, especially after my STS leg day. My remedy right now is Motrin, but I don't want that to be a daily fix. I think I'll try Soon2bfit's suggestion and try the epsom salt bath tomorrow. We just might find out we're bath people after all :rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Have a Good Evening!!

Mary

Hi Everyone! Well today was Disc 10 - YO GAYLE my biceps were fried! Thankfully not as many pushups in this workout as were in Disc 7 and I was actually pleased with how well I did. I was able to do more on my toes than ever before (but still nothing to brag about :(!) PROGRESS MY FRIENDS! I still need to go do the Stability ball abs which will be my first time with this workout and I'm going to do CC V3 as well.

Okay, so my chocolate mint dessert was a hit! I cut them into little 1" pieces as it's full of sugar and butter and I only ate 3! I left the rest of it at our friends house so I wouldn't be tempted but oh my gosh, talk about a sugar high! So Mary I thought of you with your pie as I wolfed down my chocolate!

Cendrine, I have the same issue with sore legs, but what has really been working for me is to follow it up with the stretch from Butts & Guts. That stretch really helps my legs; of course a nice bath would too. But you might try that if you have the DVD.

Kim a run sure sounds nice....I wish the weather would improve! I woke up to snow again today and now we're having high winds...where's spring?

Soon2bFit I hope you get well quickly so you can get back to your workouts (and those 1RM's!)

Hi Chrissy, hope you are having a great day!

Here's to sweat and strength! :D:D:D:D

Jo :D:p

Mary, I just noticed I don't have "thumb's up" option as I see you do in your posts. Where are your thumb's up showing up or are you typing something in to create that? Inquiring minds want to know!

Jo :D:p

Nevermind! I figured out how to do it!

Hi ladies--I'm not getting down to post as often as I'd like, but I'm faithfully doing my workouts. I did disk 8 on Friday and Amy Bento's ASC3 again on Saturday--I now have combos 1-4 down, but am struggling with the 4 corners thing on combo 5.

My lower back hurts because I slept on the couch last night because our drug dealer neighbors decided to be noisy--yes, I just love hearing other people's music in my house. Dh ended up calling the cops because they started fighting in the street. He'll have to go remind them about being quiet. They are pretty responsive to him--it's complicated--single mom, 6 out of control kids, but we have a soft spot for them, although some of their behaviors are highly annoying---grrrr--need much wisdom....

Anyway, I think I'll have to take an extra rest day tomorrow. I don't want the back thing to turn into anything longer lasting.....

Chrissy--I was so very sore after disk 9. I think it was the one legged dead lifts and the plate work at the end.

Gayle--sounds like you are doing pretty well with the early morning workouts. My hats off to you!

Cendrine--you and I are in exactly the same place. I have one more week of disks 7-9, too.

Jo--sorry about the migraine. My son gets them. I just have no idea what it's like, but it's hard to see him suffer so. Dehydration seems to be his trigger. What self-control regarding your yummy dessert!

Mary--I always like the second week better too--seems to flow more easily and I can put more into it.

Soon2befit--Sorry you feel sick--and I agree--no more house cleaning until you feel better. (It is so amazingly easy for me to avoid house work. I'll look for any excuse:eek:)

Kim--5-6 feet of snow and 0 degrees? I can't even imagine running in that--you rock!

Hi Belinda! Hi Tracy!

take care all
Maggie:)

Hi Again,

Soon2bfit, thanks for the thumbs up on the Epsom salt bath, I can't imagine becoming a bath person, but at this point, I'm almost itching to try it if it will prevent a repeat of the last view first goes at leg disks...

However, Jo, I do have Butt's and Guts and since I love stretching a lot more than a bath, I will try that one last option first...:) THanks for the tip!

Mary, I am going to the recipe forum right now to post the healthy apple pie recipe, be fowarned though... it is a tad hard to serve looking pretty.... But you might be able to fix that by making mini pies in cupcake baking tins that way you don't have to cut them and they would come out in one piece....

The recipe comes from an excellent website for clean eats called http://www.whfoods.org you may find some other nice dessert recipes there that you can indulge in without blowing your week of hard work!:) May I recommend the Very Berry Delight? It's one of my favorites, and I make it with sugar free chocolate and add my own sweetener to make it even lower in calories.

Maggie, sorry to hear about your low back trouble. If you have a heating pad, sleep on it tonight, that always works wonders for me!

Off to bed for me now!

Talk to you all tomorrow!
