Wow! Did I beat Gayle!

Congratulations on the 5K Gayle.

Jo-Thanks for checking in even though it sounds like you are having a great time with friends!

Today is my rest day but there will be no rest. It's time to start preparing food for a big b-day party today. I am trying to be strong and I think when I passed on the pound cake (my fave) with strawberries and whipped cream last night I proved that I can do it.
Sorry for the short post but I must get started with the day.

Hi, Rachel. Have fun at the party, and with all that food prep. I just love to cook and find myself making things for people because it's just so relaxing for me.

I got in an extra long workout this morning WITH NO WEIGHTS! lol Here's what I did:
  • iCycle N Rock set 19, 30 minutes (logged 7 miles)
  • 1.5 UNASSISTED pull ups (had to see if I could do ANY, lol)
  • GS Chest push ups, with feet on 8" incline so they were decline pu's on my TOES
  • B&G ball and floor work (+ the firewalkers)
  • Core Max #3 with med & stability balls
  • B&S stretch
Took me 90 minutes, and I burned almost 600 calories with that mish mosh! Since I missed Wed's cardio workout, I don't feel bad about not taking yesterday (or today, for that matter) as a rest day.

Kids and I are going to the greenhouse for garden veggies and we'll plant them in between the rain storms today. We may run another errand or 2, but we don't have anything planned today.

Have an awesome day! I've got protein pancakes on the griddle now and can't wait to chow down!!!

Hi Guys,

rest day for me. I'm making a big batch of madras lentils (I picked up some ready made ones at Costco, and they were so good I decided I wanted to try to recreate them at home in big quantities for freezing.) It tastes super good with some nonfat greek yoghurt on top! so now all I have to do is figure out the spicing proportions, but the house already smells wonderful! can't wait for lunch!

High fives on your race time, Gayle, that is amazing! Nice job!

wTG on passing up poundcake, Rachel, I love poundcake! Have fun prepping your meals!

Hi to all

Hey, Cendrine. I forgot to mention to you that later today, I'm going to make a Stewed Spinach recipe....it calls for fresh spinach, stewed tomatoes, a can of beans, and smoked paprika.....doesn't that sound AWESOME??? I'll let you know how it turns out!

On the note of food....I find my mind wandering to the dark side yesterday and this morning. I will keep it clean today and may slack off a bit tomorrow. But......I plan on kicking it into HIGH GEAR for the remainder of my Recovery Week this coming week and for the entire Meso 3. I'd love to see a significant difference in my legs and abs after Meso 3. I'm LOVING my upper body so far, so I'd love to see the rest follow!

Gayle

Gayle, definitely let me know about the spinach dish, I'd love the recipe if you have a chance to post! yum!

I have had some more wandering eyes food wise myself.... I'm blaming it on all the protein bars I ate during my kid's swimclasses for the two weeks, it has stuff in there that would not be in a more well thought through meal, and since I have had zero cravings the two months before when I completely stayed away from sugar, I think this is the sugar, though small amounts, from the daily two week protein bar intake.... It sure takes a bit of effort to not give in and get back to cruising conditions.... To be honest, right now I feel more like reinstituting my cheat meal for each week, but I know that will probably bring the cravings back monthly at that time and why put myself up for that? I can do this. I CAN DO THIS!

Great Job on that 5k, Gayle!!!

I have been eating cookies all day. I ate about a whole box of oreos at this point. I am so sick of all the mushy food I decided I would suck on cookies. I am done. I get my stiches out a week from tomorrow. I have court on Friday.

I planted an herb garden with my kids today. basil, oregano, tyme, sage. flat leaf parsley, scallions. My chives come back every year so I was all set with that. Now I just have to find cilantro.

Julie, your herb garden sounds great! all that ever survives in my soil is the more woody herbs like rosemary, oregano and thyme, the rest doesn't ever make it....:(

Hi Everyone! I know you'll forgive me for "showing up" and "leaving!" Everyone just went to bed. I'll be back on track talking to all of you tomorrow night (after everyone leaves).

I got up at 5:30 this morning to get a Spinervals workout in before everyone got up. Then we went out (another gorgeous day here) and did 4 miles on the flat trail which was amazing since not everyone is used to much activity. But we were taking out time and doing lots of talking so they were all surprised they walked so far! We're going again in the morning, but I'm getting up early again to do Disc 24 first. And then I'M DONE with Meso 2! I'll be there with you Gayle!

Gayle, big congrats on the 5K! You make me proud every day! :D Don't go to the DARK SIDE! Stay in the light where you can see what you're doing! :p You're workout today sounded great! The only DVD I've really missed since doing STS is B&G. It is absolutely one of my favorites, be it parts and pieces or all!

Rachel, I am SO proud of you for passing on the pound cake! You're doing awesome! Can't believe you beat Gayle starting the check-in (Gayle must be getting more sleep!) :D How was the party?

Cendrine, at the end of today, while everyone was sitting around talking, I was making a big batch of beans (my Jo special!) I thought of you yesterday when I was buying that 25 lb bag of pintos and wondering if you have any fabulous bean recipes. Hope you enjoyed your rest day!

Julie, the herb garden sounds so great! Hope you're doing okay. I've thought about you this weekend and hope things are working out.

Okay, I'll be in better touch tomorrow (night). Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend!
