Hey gals
I just wanted to pop in quickly and let you know what my workouts are for the week.
This is what I have decided to try until we start the june rotation...I am going to do a circuit workout on my cardio days and a meso 1 wo on my weight days...This is day 2 and my body is already sayin' WHAT???

Yesterday I did the cardio and weights dvd all the way and today was disc 1...I added weight for disc 1 to see if that 5% was there and it was! I could actually increase my weight on everything. I am still not as tough as Gayle and did not get every pushup but I know I did at least a third more than the last time.

OK I have to go finish putting my lunch together and then it is off to kick some work butt!:D

I hope you all are having a good and strong day!!!!!

Hi, Rachel! Your plan sounds like a good one. Hope work isn't TOO crazy!

Sorry, can't type much.....Disc 17 Legs and my HANDS are a bit weary??? lol But true. I'm not sure if I'll be able to move later.....WOW! Seriously, was it this hard the first time thru STS? I was going to try to get in a few miles later, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea or if I should wait till tomorrow.....although tomorrow DOMS will have set in big time, maybe I SHOULD run later BEFORE DOMS appear? LOL What a life, hugh?

OK....gotta shower. Nothing big on the calendar today again.

Hi Guys,

I did Low Max today. It was a good workout, and I haven't done it in it's entirety in a while, so it felt good to do the whole thing.
Had one of my quiches for breakfast, yummy!

Not much to share here either.

hi-everyone
Just got back from school. I needed to get some more info from my test subjects.

Gayle -my test results.
VO2 max- about 37-40ml/kg/min I am above average for a woman. It is not as high as I would have thought but it was not a true VO2max test. That is a grueling test and that is not what we were supposed to do.
Just to give you an idea- The higher you VO2 max the more of an endurance athlete you are. Lance Armstrong's is about 76 ml/kg/min. A girl in my class is a triathlete and hers is about 60-65. Mine would probably be a little higher if I was at a lower weight.

I also did a wingate test which is an all out bike test for 30secs. The resistance is set based on your weight. It measures your peak and mean power output. So someone who is an endurance athlete would have a higher mean power. They can sustain their power for awhile but not necessarily have it really high. A power athlete or body builder would have a very high peak power but it would drop off quickly (so their mean power would be lower).
So the good news is, I did this test last year and had a peak power of 553 watts. I did the test over again and my peak power went up to 735 watts. I was very happy about that. In fact I had a higher peak power than the triathlete in my class. she is 26 and very competitive. She would not show me her test results. I think it really bugged her that a 40 yr, slightly overweight woman could beat her.:p.

So in conclusion- I am more of a power athlete than an endurance athlete.

I need to go now
