Good Morning All!!

Just a quick post to get us started. I just finished shoulders, biceps, triceps-week2. Really like that one.

My youngest son, Ryan is having his moving up ceremony today. So my older one is staying home from school and we will go to lunch and then to the movies. We will either see UP or star trek. I'll let Ryan decide.

Well I am going to eat then shower.

Hey guys

I am going to be in and out too. Its another wonderful work day;) Did I sound convincing:D

Today was disc 25 chest and back...I liked it. But I did not really get to rest between sets because I was too busy switching the weight out on my bar so Cendrine I would not have time if I wanted to try to squeeze in some abs.

Mary-I must have been posting at the same time as you last night. Thank you very much. You made my day.

Hope everyone had a good ole workout and I will BBL.

Rachel

Rachel- squat rack legs is the only workout you actually have ALOT of time between sets. I did calf work during mine and still had plenty of time to do a load of laundry-:p

Hi!!!

Just jumping in to say how GREAT Gayle and Chrissy look. The hard work has paid off. It was great being with them this weekend. I was totally regretting not getting STS!!!! Especially since I had a hard time understanding everything they were talking about!!! And a little scared that they could bench press ME!!!!

Enjoy your STS journey!!!!

Hi Everybody,

I'm also doing an early morning post. I did CCV5 this morning on the treadmill. I put in a little over 5 miles and my legs are thanking me for the great workout. The sun is shining and it's suppose to be a beautiful day.

Question! With the squat rack leg workout, do I need a squat rack? I plan to purchase a weighted vest before the start of meso 3, and I can shoulder a pretty heavy bar without assistance. Do all of you ladies have a squat rack? Inquiring minds need to know!!!!!

Ok, with my free time after work I will have more time to post. Have a great day ladies and we will talk soon!

Mary

Hi Everyone! I will have to come back later to talk to you each but I did squat legs today (love that!).

Mary, you don't need a squat rack but you can go heavier if you do. Cathe shows doing it with just a vest. I have done it both with my vest and using our squat rack. It is still effective with just the vest, but it also depends on heavy you actually need to go and what you can lift over your head.

BBL!

Hi Guys,

I did the drill max cardio time saver and medicine ball abs. I really had to talk myself into getting started but did ok once I did the first drill. I'm glad it's done and I feel good that I did it!

Mary, welcome back to us morning exercisers! I don't own a squat rack and am planning on doing meso 3 without it. I'm doing my first squat rack disk on Friday (plyo legs tomorrow) I am going to get a vest as well, and I'm pretty sure I will get a satisfactory workout that way.

Hi Ellie, nice to meet you, Galye and Chrissy have been saying lots of nice things about you! I hope you get a chance to try out STS sometime, it is really fun and seems a lot more scarey before you do it than after.

Chrissy, what a fun way to celebrate! We want to do something for the end of year for ds as well, not quite sure what yet.

Rachel, I am not feeling my chest muscles nicely from disk 25, but not the back. How are you doing? I might experiment with abs for squat rack legs, but not for upper body disks, snice the rest is a little shorter there. Or I may be so spent I will drink up all the rest seconds Cathe gives me.... LOL!

Hi everyone, just jumping in for a quick break! I've been on conference calls since I got here this morning!

Mary, just wanted to follow-up on the squat rack question again. Since you can lift heavy overhead, you'll probably be fine with the vest (I struggle). :p Also, glad you are back to mornings! ;)

Rachel, glad you liked Disc 25! It just gets better from there!

Cendrine, I felt it alot in my chest and high up on my lats after that first disc. I love the Drill Max premixes!

Chrissy, I'm cracking up about you doing laundry between sets! I did laundry too between chest sets and changed the sheets during deadlifts! The weights for deadlifts is in our bedroom, and the squat rack is downstairs, so I was running up and down!

Ellie, nice of you to poke your head in! I wish we could ALL meet! Especially after this great journey we've been on together! I'd love to see how everyone looks but am glad Chrissy and Gayle were able to show themselves off!:eek:

Back to work!

Rachel, I forgot to answer your question about being hungrier. I actually usually feel more hungry on hard cardio days (like after Imax 3 or Cardio Coach!). I'm not feeling any different then Meso 2. I attribute that to eating 5 times a day. But I'm feeling hungry right now!

Mary, I took DH with me when I picked out the purple glasses...he immediately picked up a dark brown pair and said I should try those! (He's conservative too!). Well they looked like crap on me anyway and then he conceded that the purple were the cutest!

Okay, I'm done posting now for a while...:p:D

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack....but now headed to a baseball game. Go figure!

ELLIE!!!!! Stay and hang out! I will call you later this week about our stay at your place! I LOVED IT!!!! We'll talk.

Everyone else, I'll be back on schedule TOMORROW!

Popping in for a special guest post....Gayle and Chrissy...could definitely see the results of STS, it was great seeing you this past weekend!!!

Good afternoon everybody!!!

I hope everyone has had a great day and a great workout. Mine was Hot hot hot! Another scorching 100 degrees. What makes it unbearable though is the humidity.

DH is still thinking about getting p90x. Julie said she had one to sale so I am hoping she will pop in here and let me know what she wants for it. He tried to order it off one of those infomercials but he did not like the way they kept trying to sale him everything else. That is what I love about Cathe...No hassles! I do not think I will like p90 but I hope he does.

I don't know how I forgot to mention this but OMG on the doms for plyo 26. The last time I did these I don't think I got them this bad. Mainly on the front thigh. Woo wee. I hope I get some from squat rack too...Glutton for punishment:eek:
I was kind of worried about not getting sore from disc 25 but I am already feeling the tightness in my chest. I felt like I did all the weight that I could handle but I did not get a burn, just an 'I can't lift this anymore':p I hate it when my chest does not get sore. It is one of my strongest upper body parts and I like to know I am working it as hard as possible.
OK enough about me:p

Mary-That darn pull behind dog carrier made me smile! Toby must be a little guy. I treat my 2 dogs and 1 cat like my children. Esp. since they are the only children I will have:D But I do not think my legs are strong enough to pull our big little dog. We call her our porch pig! She has an eating complex:p
I agree with Jo on the squat rack thing. If you are strong enought o lift the weight over your head then I would not worry about getting one.

Gayle-Cape May, the boardwalk, hanging with Ellie and Chrissy, and throwing caution to thewind and eating what ever you darn well please for a day...Sounds like a wonderful vacation to me!!! I am telling you what though, I think I speak for everyone when I say we sure did miss you around here! I missed your brightly colored posts:p.

Kim-On the p90 this I think I am not really a fan of Tony Horton. I do not know what it is about him...Maybe its just that he is not Cathe-esk. But I am sure I will have to try it out if DH gets it. But I probably won't do a 90 day thing.

Chrissy-Did you make it to the movies? If so which one? From what Ellie said you and Gayle were rocking those sts bodies. You go girl!

Cendrine-Although I love drill max because I know it is a great workout...I always start talking myself into it the night before:p:D. That way by the time I wake up in the morning I am prepared for the pain.
I do not know how you are going to do plyo on wed and then squat rack on fri. I am so sore from plyo. I had a feeling it would be tough for me to do 2 hard leg workouts in one week so I tried to put some space between them. I do squat rack on thurs so that is just one extra day for me. You will have to tell me how you feel tomorrow night or thurs morn.:D

Jo-you are so funny. I can picture you running up and down the stairs frantically just so you are not resting or using more time than Cathe allows. I know how precise you like to be! You are so dedicated. Way to use those rest breaks for getting extra cardio right!

OK I better go, DH is out trying to dehair our poor hot dog so I better go see if I can help...
Tonights dinner-black bean and sweet potato chili. Yum

Hi Everybody,

We had a beautiful day until about an hour ago, now the rain will be here soon, so I'm just doing some laundry and picking up around the house. DH and DS are at the gym. I introduced my DH to spinning at our gym about a year ago, and he was totally hooked from day 1. He normally works out early afternoon before work, but since he's on a temporary layoff he has some extra time. The gal that teaches spin is on vacation and they asked DH to teach the class tonight. He was pretty psyched. My DH and I have a very competitive thing going between us, so I was tempted to go to the class tonight and give him a run for his money, BUT I did run 5 miles this morning so my legs are not the most fresh. When I put him up to a challenge, I want to make sure I'm 100%!!

Gayle-We missed you, and can't wait to hear about your weekend. I guess I will just have to be patient until tomorrow morning :(:(.

Ellie-Thanks for jumping in to say HI. Your weekend sounded like a blast (and I'm not talking Step Blast!!) I believe Gayle has pictures for us to view of the weekend adventure. Can't wait to put faces and names together!!

Jo & Cendrine-Thanks for the advice on the squat rack. I think I will just use the vest and as heavy a bar that I can lift over my head without killing myself. I was looking at weighted vests that go from 20 to 30 #'s, do you think that would be to heavy? The reason I ask is because my lower body has always responded quickly to squat work, and I really don't want to expand my quads any more than they are, but of course I want to shrink my butt!! Do you think the 10# vest is sufficient for extra weight or should I bite the bullet and pay the extra for the heavier weighted vest and increase and reduce weight as needed?

Jo-I enjoy shopping, my DH does not!! For us to go shopping together is a rariety, unless it's for appliances, furniture or household gadgets. I believe I've purchased 90% of his clothes without him even stepping foot in the store. When it comes to clothing, he's content on wearing cothes that he's had since we were first married (over 20 years ago). I wish I could take DH with me to buy clothes or eye glasses, but over the years I have learned that it's more productive for me to go by myself or take a friend.

Cendrine-It's good to be back with the morning crew!! I absolutely love getting my workout done in the morning and having extra time at night so I can say HI to all of you! I did Drill Max on Sunday. I did the double cardio where you do each drill twice then move on to the next drill. That one kicks my butt every time, but I sure do feel accomplished when it's over!!!

jloewe-No fair rubbing it in that you got to see Gayle and Chrissy's chiseled bodies and we can't!! They have worked hard to get those great results and they deserve

Rachel-So you have a porch pig with an eating complex! I have a great visual of that!! My DH and I are big time dog lovers, and at one time we had 5 very large dogs that were incredibly spoiled. At Christmas time, we would put antlers and stocking caps on all the dogs and then our neighbor, who was a photographer, would come over and take our Christmas picture. He would have to take about 50 shots to get just one where all the dogs, DH and me were looking straight ahead. Every once in awhile I will pull out all the pictures and laugh at all the funny faces my DH and I were making trying to get the dogs in position. Sadly, the last of our 5 dogs passed away about 3 years ago. Then last year DS was relentless about wanting a pet, so we finally caved and this time we went the complete opposite and got a mini dauschund (sp?) He's a long haired hotdog, and as cute as a button. Need I say that he's just a tab bit spoiled:p:p.

Hi Kim-It does sound like our boys are very similar to each other, with a lot of the same likes. To bad we don't live a little closer to each other

. DS had his first tennis practice today, and while he was reaching for the ball, he lost his balance and toppled over. I guess he inherited a little of his clumsiness from me! He skinned his hands, both knees and both arms have bruises on them. He thinks he gave the instructor a slight heart attack when he did his not so graceful fall. I'm sure he will be very sore tomorrow.

Hi Chrissy- I'm sure you are catching up from the busy weekend. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Julie-Hope your week is going well!!

OK, I think I've said enough for now! Have a great evening and I'll see you in the morning!

Mary

Just a quick post for me as I got to get dd into bed! Busy night with dd's last piano lesson for the never ending piano year:rolleyes::rolleyes: Friday is her exam and then no more piano until September (doing the happy dance)

Just did LIC cardio premix and the STS yoga abs! Fun workout! I will try and catch up later but will be busy again tomorrow night as we have season tickets to our football league and they're first game is tomorrow night.
Kim

Rachel, I'm doing plyo tomorrow and Squat legs on Saturday... I tried to make it about as well half way apart as possible with my schedule and this is the best I could come up with.... I don't know, I remember Jo having to move her scheduled plyo or squat legs because she was still sore from one or the other... I will let you know how it goes...:)

Hi Kim and Mary, I was typing while you posted, didn't mean to ignore you!

Mary, dh is also one who doesn't go shopping. I have finally gotten rid of some of his clothes he had since before we got married, 11 years now and just weren't flattering him. He is fashion illiterate and doesn't care, but he is happy to pretty much wear what I get for him within reason.... ;)

He just finished STS disk 1 for the second round today. He took less breaks but said he doesn't think he can move on to week 2 next week because disk 1 is still really a challenge for him. So he is opting for doing each week three times, which is probably not a bad idea, given that he has been in hiatus for a good while.

Kim, as of tomorrow, all our extracurricular happenings are at an end for the summer too! I am doing the happy dance as well. It's so nice not to be dictated by afterschool programs... They are great, but they are demanding!

Plyo legs for me tomorrow.... I hope I'll be able to walk up the stairs to post about how jello-not quite set I am ....

Oh my gosh! I just typed this giant post and LOST the whole thing! I'll try somewhat again!

We're having a wonderfully busy thread today!

Jerry, thanks for poking your head in! It was wonderful that you all live so close that you can get together!

Cendrine and Rachel, I'm breaking up my legs Tuesday = squat legs, Friday = Plyo legs. I have to have 3 days in betweeen. I love that DH is doing Meso 1! I almost have mine convinced to give it a try...but I have a hard time getting him to use the Bowflex so we'll see!

Mary, your DH sounds like mine! Over the 20 years, I also have bought all of his clothes (including shoes) and then he's shocked when he goes in a store and finds out how much things cost. I love that your DH is teaching a spin class! I love to spin. I think I told you this before, but I took up spinning when I had to quit running and got addicted to it! Love the intensity of it!

Rachel, I wish it was 100 degrees here! Okay, maybe not but a little warmer! I have P90X also and have done it a couple of times. I got very bored with it and in my opinion, it doesn't compare. But it may click with DH since it's a guy. Whatever works right? :D

Kim, hope things slow down for you this week!

Hi Julie wherever you are! Hope you're doing okay!

Okay, I know I had said lots more, but this is close to the post I LOST (I can't believe it!)
