6 month alumni Thursday checkin

FourAM

Cathlete
Kim I hope you have a great couple of days off!

It was disk 10 for me this morning. I too did not do the 20 min steady state, Cendrine. I just did not have time. I am looking forward to some down time but I do not see any in the immediate future. We do have a trip planned for September 10th thru the 13th but up until then it is going to be stressful just trying to get done esp with everything they are adding here at the last minute! They have to pass an inspection by the 7th but the architect failed to put the right type of flooring in some of the rooms so now we have to go back and redo those. Ugghhh!

I am sorry for all the moaning! I am glad I have a job! Some people are not that lucky and I need to suck it up and keep my nose to the grindstone!<---Was that convincinG?:D

I hope you all had or are going to have a great workout and a great day!

How is home school going Cendrine?

Good Morning All!!
We took our kitten to the vet tuesday night. It turns out she has fleas (yuck!!), she is 4 months old....oh and she is not a she, she is a HE!!!!. I would think I would be able to tell these things by now....Although I have been told it is hard to figure out on a kitten. We all had a good laugh at the vets. But other wise she is healthy. The kids have been calling him Dusty so he can keep his name.

Rachel-your job sounds so frustrating, with the flaws in the rug and errors with the flooring...I would be venting too .
Slow and heavy work is in the slow and heavy series. Those were the first videos of Cathe's I got. I have them on VHS and have not done them in years. I since replaced them with DVD's but never actually opened them..

Cendrine- Are you thinking about training a dog for the blind? My friend when I was growing up did that. She had 3 different dogs that they had to give up after a year. Yes it is hard but it is for a good cause. She did always have a 2nd dog so the house wasn't empty after the puppy left. Good luck with your decision.

Kim- hope your foot feels better and enjoy your days off. I have to got school shopping too. They have less than 2 weeks left of summer vacation. It went so fast. I am looking foward to it being over. The summer is really hard on my diet-:(. Now I have to work off the extra weight from my trip. I have such an impossible time eating healthy on vacation.

So how cool is the auditions for Cathe's next DVD's. I am a little jealous because if I didn't go to NJ I would have done Daytona. Actually Daytona's location sounds really awesome. I would have attempted the audition. How awesome would it be to be in a Cathe DVD?!!? Anyone going to try out?

Have a great day.

Hi Guys,

I did disk 12 and ne abs, all went well and I feel good!
I just realized that I only have one more workout in this rotation and then I'm done with the June rotation! Wow! THat went fast all of a sudden!

Chrissy, how funny about the little kitten turning out to be a He! I wouldn't be able to tell myself. From my experience, boy cats are more affectionate and cuddly than girl cats. Have fun with him!
And, yes, I am considering raising a puppy to give it up for service dog training at 18 months. I'm still not fully decided on it but since I have some time to make up my mind, it's ok. I don't know that I would want to continue with another one like your friend did, though. Maybe when the kids are older, but I think I have enough 'kids' to watch without a permanent puppy in the house.... LOL!
I had a hard time with my diet this summer as well. I have done well in the past, but this summer has been hard on my diet as well. I have some undoing happening right now as well. I have stopped weighing myself, because I always get so messed up by numbers.... So I just look at myself and how my clothes fit. This is my first week in about two months that I feel I have been eating like I would like without unplanned hickups.... I feel like I have finally snapped out of whatever it was that hit me at the beginning of summer and I can tell subtle improvements on my body just from the one week of doing well, so that is encouraging!
What is your plan to get that icon moving on the ticker? I'm mayorly relaxing my definition of clean for now, because I think that might be part of why I went so out of control this summer... I should have known that, I always tend to go all or nothing and then I fall flat on my face.... So I am now allowing lower grades on the clean list and instead watching the portions. Seems to work for now.

So next week I start my 4DS rotation. Not sure if I am going to do it more than two weeks in a row, we'll see.

Rachel, have you decided what rotation you are going to do, other than knowing you'll do something non sts?
Sorry to hear about the trouble at work! I would really be frustrated as well!
I hope you get some unexpected downtime before your trip!
Homeschooling is going well. We just have tomorrow and then we will be done with our first week already! Today dd's preschool curriculum included reading the book 'if you give a mouse a cookie' so needless to say, we made cookies afterwards. I only had a couple of bites (protion control). Since this is the week of the letter A for dd we also made a rocket today to practice words starting with the 'a' sound. Each of the rockets windows had an 'a' word picture glued on it and then we made fire with tissue paper coming out the end...Of course ds, doing 1st grade work, stopped what he was doing and made his own rocket for astronaut week as well....LOL!
He gets to do some experiments with magnets this afternoon, he loves science! Yesterday he wanted to go hit a local Vita course for P.E. Both kids did very well, of course they had to modify, but they did really well and we decided we wanted to go back regularly to see if we can impove our time and reps etc. So, as you can see, we are busy and having fun! It is a relief to me to realize that it is not taking up as much time as I was afraid of at first. Maybe that will change when the curriculum gets more challenging, but for now it is really enjoyable!

This is going to a totally self absorbed, needy post. But just wanted to tell you all that my little boy would have been 10 years old today. We lost him to Trisomy 18/Edward's Syndrome the same day he was born. He was born 15 days after his due date, he stayed with us for as long as possible. It just still breaks my heart.
