6 days to the beach!!!!!

Where are we all going on vacation?

I am sooo ready, except for the drive.
We are heading to the outer banks this year.
I am staying in Duck this year which is a 1st. Usually down in kill devil or kitty hawk .
I choose condo's for the pool . I have had jellyfish weeks, and i refuse to spend 5 grand on a beach house with a pool.

The second week of July we are hitting Universal Studios in Cali, Huntington Beach and the Aquarium of the Pacific
 
Headed to Long Beach Island (New Jersey) July 1 - 8. Took the house for two weeks last year but we're considering a California trip (on a tour bus) for the second week of August.

Hooray for summer. I'm a school nurse and have a day and a half left of work until the day after Labor Day. Needless to say, I LOVE SUMMER.

I too are going to the beach on Sunday for the whole week of July! We are going to Atlantic Beacon near Fort Macon. We also are staying at a Condo that has a pool.

I just got back from the Aquarium of the Pacific! I can't say enough good things about that place! We had so much fun there! We actually went twice in one day!

The best part of the day was when we went to see the sea lions. My kids were holding little shiny stones. They were kind of sparkly. One sea lion followed my kids wherever they went. She was trying to follow their sparkly stones! The kids put the rocks next to the glass and the sea lion did tricks and followed their hands! She did little flips and turns at their command! It was THE COOLEST!!

I can explain a little more, if you need! You will love it there!

Oooh Nancy I just love LBI! I spent several summers there with like 5 other kids in my early 20s.....my aunt & uncle have a place there, in Harvey Cedars, where I know I'll never afford to rent........I would still rent in Beach Haven if I didn't live in north Jersey now.

Anyway, I'm off to Point Pleasant as usual. This is my last summer down the shore so I'm trying to make the most of it. Then I'm gonna start acting like a grown up & save for retirement. x(
 
I just love OBX! We stay on Whalehead Beach in Corolla when we go, we just love the ocean, and the nice laid back atmosphere. I could live there with no problem!

Have a great trip, and if you stop in at Joan's at Timbuck II in Corolla, say hi. She is an old Firm fan, and I have tried to get her into Cathe's stuff, but she is intimidated. Very neat lady.

Have some steamed shrimp at Fishbones for me!!!!}(
 
We got our tickets from costco.com. They should be coming ups tomorrow. I have not been out of the state since my daughter Sarah was like 2, she's 10 now. I am long over due. I have a digital camera. If yo take pics inside do they turn out? Flash on or off? At any given time of the day can you pet something in the tanks outside? What was the weather like? I am watching it on yahoo and it says high of 83 and lows of 63. Is it humid? Thanks for your reply. You can email me so we don't jack the thread! LOL :)
 
That's where we stay....Harvey Cedars. 75th Street, I believe. I love it there too. The driveway of the house is sand, continuous with the beach. Too bad I'm not an early riser as I'm sure the sunrises are fabulous. I should make it a point this year.

Last year we had the first two weeks of July and the weather was great everyday!!!! I'm getting a little nervous about this year with the weather we've been having....as you know, it's a big investment.

Ask your uncle for a few days...I'd love to meet you!

Where ya staying at atlantic beach? I liked the beaches there.
We stayed at the genesis last year and i hated it.People were rude.Owners were all in and took up all the parking. We had 2 spots for a 4 bedroom condo. The best was our 4th bedroom was in the basement behind the garage.Stunk and had dead bugs everywhere. I was fuming. The realator was not liking me very much.......
We were looking at the ocean club this year , but, i wanted to go back to the banks.
We are staying in Duck on at barrier island. I hope it is nice....

Is that the name of a house in Corolla. I will be waundering on the bikes and i will find it.

I remember going to Long Beach Island as a kid with my dad's cousin's family. Loved it! Now we go to VA Beach, because we have family down that way. DH and I are camping there for about 10 days, with a trip to North Carolina to visit friends in the middle. It will be the first time we've been alone in a tent for 22 years and we can't wait. We may try to get out backpacking a weekend or two also, another thing we haven't done since children came along. I hope my back can hold up.
 
We just got back from Destin, Florida. The weather, the sand, and the water were all just perfect. Our three kids enjoyed the beach a lot. The only negative thing about the week was that I didn't exercise even one time!! Now I am ready to catch up with my Cathe routines!! Have a great summer vacation, everyone!:)
