6.5 or 5.5 month STS rotation?

So which one should I do??

Originally Cathe created the 3.5 month and the 6.5 month rotations for STS but now there is talk of a 5.5 month rotation where you only do each M3 work out one time each instead of twice.

Which do you think would be the better choice or is it just total personal preference as to which one you choose?

TIA for any responses/opinnions/insights anyone can give!:)
 
This is my 4th time doing STS, but my first time doubling up the rotation. I have decided that I want to do the 5 1/2 month rotation based on my past 3 experiences with mesocycle III. Don't get me wrong, I like meso III, I just prefer to only do it for one month. For one thing, I tend to bulk up a bit when I go heavy. There are some posts by Cathe on this discussion - you might want to do a search. Or hopefully someone who is more familiar with these discussions can post a link? (Hint, hint :rolleyes:)

The other thing I recently saw from Cathe is that she recommends taking an active recovery week ever 4 weeks - irregardless of whether you are doing the 3 1/2, 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 month rotation.

I was thinking 1 time thru meso 3 would be enough for me as well but if there was some really good reason to do it 2x then I would consider it. Guess I don't have to worry about that now! ;)

It was actually me who asked Cathe about taking a recovery week every 4 weeks in the longer rotations and boy was I thrilled when she said it was recommended! :D
 
Finished up the 2nd 4 week stretch of Meso 1 and didn't find myself in such dire need for the recovery week this time around. I wonder why that is?

Starting M2 tmrw! Can't wait! Sooo excited b/c this is the meso that most seem to rave about!!! :D
 
Hmmm....have you been getting in 3 days of cardio and 3 days of ST? I just finished up week 7 of week 8 for meso I and am feeling great. The first 4 weeks of meso I I had trouble getting in my cardio and getting into a regular schedule of days for STS so I didn't take off a week after week 4, but weeks 5-7 I have gotten in my cardio as well as found a solid schedule for STS days. I think I will be really looking forward to my recovery week.

So what reward did you give yourself for finishing up meso I? You certainly deserve one! My reward is getting myself new workout dvds to do during my recovery week.

I LOVE meso II!! I hope you do, too. Great job on finishing up 8 weeks of meso I!

I am actually on a schedule that allows me 5 days of cardio most weeks b/c I need it. 3 days just isn't enough for me anymore. :( I do 2 of my STS weight work outs on Sat/Sun + a short cardio (30 mins). The one day during the week that I do a weight work out I don't have time for cardio but then I have 2 other days for all cardio + 1 day I call my cardio/leg day and finally my rest day which I prefer to take during the week. :)

I didn't give myself any purposeful reward but I DID order a few new work outs so I guess I can justify them as a "reward" now that you mention it! ;):D

Did D13 and D14 over the weekend and loved them, btw!:D
