Today went about as well as you could expect. Mil was asleep when we got there but was able to wake up enough to visit. She was aware of who everyone was. She did fall asleep a couple of times but did get a good look at her 7 mo old great grandson for the first time. Elliot wondered why she was sleeping all the time but it didn't scare her.

Party went well. I wondered what it would be like with eight 3 and 4 year old kids at a pool party. They ate, played games and went in the pool and then ate again. A good time was had by all. Considering how much sugar they ate I'm glad I didn't have any of them sleep at my house tonight.

Good morning, Y'All!

Joan, so sorry to hear about your mil. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Saturday, I did one of the workouts from Kelly Coffey-Meyer's "Thirty Minutes to Fitness: Boot Camp," which I followed up with a 6-minute segment of Cathe's "Ab Hits" (the 6-minute one from "Power Hour.") My hip isn't hurting any worse, and there actually seems to be less pain than there was before I worked out. No time to do anything yesterday, but I'm doing something today! I can't take not exercising anymore, I was starting to get really depressed.

Have a great day, everyone.

Magnolia I'm with you on how annoying it is to not exercise. Even though I can't get back into lifting at the moment I had been doing my Wii game Walk it Out every day for 2-4 miles. I have had company and at my wo time they were always watching tv. I didn't do it for three days and today I kicked them out of the room. It felt so good.

Good morning, Y'All!

Well, I had not slept so well Sunday night, so I had no energy for working out. My fil was in the hospital with pneumonia since last week, and we went into NYC to see him. He went home yesterday. Anyway, it's at least an hour's drive from us, so we didn't get home until late. I just did not get enough sleep. I was too tired to think of doing anything. But I really slept well last night, so I am planning to do some stretching and maybe a weight workout today.

BBL.

I thought I'd push it a little today, so after my Classical Stretch (deep hip and hamstring stretching), I did the Timesaver premix from Gym Style Back, Shoulders and Biceps. I had to do a couple of modifications, but was using pretty close to the weights that I used before I hurt my back. Now I'll see how this all feels tomorrow. After the stretching, my back and hip felt so much better, though. Guess that tells me I need to do that every day.

Have a great day, everyone.

howdy, howdy, i am actually here. i have been sooo busy, and all day today my computer has been a REAL pain. haven't been able to read all the posts, cuz my dumb computer is taking foreve, so i figured i'd better say hi.
i just got my brand new Polar FA20, now if i can just figure out how to use it. another computer, just what i need.LOL!
so, hi, hope to be back sometime this week.

Hi, Y'All!

I just finished The Firm's Ultimate Fat Burning Workout, followed by Classical Stretching with emphasis on hip and groin stretches. It really made my sore hip feel better! I have problems when I don't stretch--then I get pain. The pain will come back in a few hours, but at least I get to enjoy a little time when those muscles are relaxed.

Cathy, I hear The Firm is about to come out with some new workouts. Saw some clips, and they don't look easy!!!

Looking forward to the new ones from Cathe!

Have a great evening, everyone!

Good Morning, Y'All!

Joan, I am praying for you and for your family.

I just completed the Timesaver premix from Gym Style Chest & Triceps and another intense stretching workout. I'm amazed that I can use almost the same weights I used before. I am going to have to go back to the chiropractor, though, and he will probably insist that I not work out. The pain is not going away totally, but the stretching certainly eases it and when I don't stretch, I stiffen up a little.

Have a great day, everyone!

Magnolia I guess we are all of an age where in-laws and parents are old. Amazingly enough my mil is getting stonger.

The heavens have aligned and the new month and Monday are coming up. Since I always start a new diet or exercise program on a Monday I have no excuse. I just wish the new Cathe were available on time.

Cathy I hope you get computer worked out.

Hi to Jann and Beth.

Joan

HI ladies!! I have been spending way to much time on the computer. :p

I created a workout blender workout from the Hiit workouts... it's a Hiit low impact 45 minute workout. It was GREAT! :D

Joan I am going to email cathe dot com and see about our free stuff. :)

auuugghhh!!! my HRM is not an HRM . it is a fitness monitor. it doesn't measure heart rate. so, i returned it. do ya'll have any suggestions for a polar HRM? one that is good for the workouts we do. most of them are for runners, bikers. am ready to order one.
i am looking at a couple, the FT4F, and the FT7F. any input would be appreciated. :)

Cathy I don't have hrm. I do love my GWF armband. I like that it tells calories used for the whole day. I have upped my calorie usage considerably and it's not from exercise but everyday activities. I don't use many in that 1 hour of exercise. The other 23 hours I was able to increase or at least some of them.

Joan

Jann could you print which chapters you used to make new wo low impact. If it's not too much trouble I think I would use that. I also like the fact that it is only 45 min.

Joan

Hi, Y'all.

Joan, glad to hear your mil is stronger.

I think sometimes our regular activities can be so hectic and concentrated that we burn more calories than we think.

Jann, sounds like you are having a lot of fun with the Workout Blender. That mix you made sounds great.

This morning when I got up, the pain in my back and left hip was almost unbearable, so I called my chiropractor, who saw me almost right away. I have no idea how long this problem will take to fix, but my activities are going to be limited for now. No heavy lifting, no mopping, sweeping or vacuuming, and no leaf raking--and no exercise, not even walking. I can do some household chores, so long as I am careful. So I won't have to spend all my time in bed or on the couch, thank goodness. I'm so tired of the pain, it will be a real relief when this is all over.

Have a great evening, everyone.

Magnolia

Magnolia I know it's frustrating but I hope you do nothing. You need to get healed.

I have cleaned up wo area and am ready for Monday but still don't know what wo. Weigh in was 164.4 this morning which puts me back on schedule other than I have only lost 1lb in about 2 months. I am trying to be happy that I can maintain even when I'm not watching calories.
