I did get an hour on the treadmill last night. Just getting us started- will check in later.

HI all!

Taking another rest day -- need it. We are putting away all our deck stuff so cleaning, lifting, carrying, packing. Maybe I'm not getting a rest day - ;)
 
Didn't have a chance to post yesterday, but I did get in CC Vol 4 early yesterday morning. Today is my rest day. Enjoy your day, everyone.
 
Hello!!

After 2 rest days (much needed) am doing last weeks legs and disc 4-

Those deadlifts are really starting to bother my back- I don't think it is hurting it or anything- just that having my back that exhausted makes me sooo tired and crappy!!!

Hi everyone

I managed to struggle through disc 6 today. When I first attempted STS last summer, I stopped after disc 6 -- now I remember why. I've always thought my legs were strong, but I really struggle with the one leg sit & stand from the chair -- I can't seem to lift my own body weight on one leg, lose my balance, etc. Also the ball squats -- terrible! However, this time I will persevere, I won't quit.

Happy Thanksgiving, Lori. Hope you have a great day. I have a lot of trouble with those sit & stands, too. Mine is all a matter of balance, I think, so I keep my non-working foot close to or barely touching the floor and make sure my weight is all on the working leg. I do that in hopes of making myself strong enough to do it just the way they do it on the video eventually.

The weekend was really nice, although we weren't able to see DH's god daughter, as she and her whole family were all sick. :( Anyway, today is my jet-lag day, since we didn't arrive home until late last night.

Jann, all that work you're doing doesn't sound like a day off to me!

Anyway, Joan, Beth, Cathy, Trisha, Deb, Deb, and anyone I may have missed :eek:, have a great afternoon! :D

Treadmill day for me. I am on a spring cleaning roll --- I know it's fall :p That's the best way to describe it.

Cathy I don't really know the firm wo's. I did have one but it seemed there were so many repetitions that it hurt my joints.

Happy Thanksgiving Lori. Don't give up- you do have my permission to skip anything you can't do the first time through. It does get better.

I totally agree about deadlifts. They seem to bother me more in meso 1 than later. I don't know why.

Second surgery for mother is Wed Oct 21. She is still sore but not major. She seems to be more worried about this operation. She just wants it to be over. It's the 6 weeks of radiation with me having to take her and Elliot every day that I dread. Everyone asks how they can help but when I make suggestions they all suggest some else.

Just checking in while my tax return is printing. It just stopped so I need to review it. I did finish all my clients returns. I'm always last.

Hello!!

Happy Thanksgiving Day yesterday Lori! I found that on the sit and stands if I put a phone book on the seat it helps, then, later you can decrease the size of the book until you can lift from the chair.

Joan, my heart is with you. I wish I could help! I remember how hard it is getting anywhere with a three year old (crazy fun, but not easy). Your mom must be frightened. I know I would be.

Jann, I will try the bent knees next time- I did mean to say crabby and not crappy.

Magnolia, I am glad you had a good weekend even if your didn't see your godchild.

HOWDY, today i did Maximum Cardio Burn, (firm) and the above lower body circuit by allie. great workout.

lori, those 1-legged sit-n-stands are impossible. i still have to use a bit of balance from my other foot. just do what you can. i did do better the 2nd time thru STS. but, they are VERY HARD!!

ironmom- the deadlifts hurt my back too, i had to go down some in weight. and the side slide hurt my back a bit. just lighten your wgts. a bit. that might help. STS is tough!

I had a lot of errands today, so I am now really tired. Think I am going to just catch up on some studying this afternoon. That is, before I have to cook. Anyway, looks like that's going to be my day.

Thanks for the suggestion about using a telephone book for those sit & stands, Beth. Maybe I'll try that next time. Those are really almost impossible to do!

I took a walk outside today. It is so nice. I am not sure how far I walked because so many people were outside and well, I just had to stop and chat :rolleyes:.
On those sit and stands I have to add a few inches to the top as well. It works! :D.

Hi everyone - well today I managed to get in CC Vol 4, despite a very frustrating and discouraging day. I smacked up my car yesterday, and then my furnace broke down this morning (this in Canada, it is snowing like the dickens outside; however the temperature is going to rise to spring-like conditions by Thursday...we call that a Chinook). Anyway, the good news is: no injuries and both vehicles are still driveable; and I did not freeze to death. The furnace man came and fixed the furnace ($1000 it cost me), and now it is toasty warm again. Okay, enough whining.
Thanks to everyone for the pointers on those sit and stands. I am relieved to be assured that I am not a total weakling.
Magnolia - hope you are all rested up and recovered from jet lag!
Jann - good for you with the spring cleaning -- I wish I could find the energy, my house surely needs it!
Joan - you're so right, why do people ask when they seem to already have their own answer. I'm sure your mom (and you) will be so relieved when this is all over.
Cathy - yes, she is a beautiful child.

Hi ladies,

Just a quick check in and then I'm hitting the bed. No wo but I did finish my tax return. No excuses tomorrow.

HELP I had just over 2000 calories today. I was hungry all day. When I was losing my 1/2lb per week I averaged 1550 calories eaten. But because of the occasional high day I had to have 2 or 3 1200 calories days. I can't seem to do that anymore. In fact it seems like on most days I eat from 1500 to 1700 calories. Today was the highest at least in the last month since I started to count calories again.

Joan I go through the exact same thing. I have my normal 1400 -1500 calories days and feel fine. Then some days hit where I am just hungry all day and have to have more. I am sure it has something to do with cycles at least that's what I believe. Some days I blame it on the weather - ;) Yay about getting those tax returns done and out of the way. Now, are you done until January?

Good morning everyone, It sounds like everyone is very busy and getting in some great workouts. I have been and will be putting in lots of hours at work. I am going to do a kettlebell workout and pilates before I get ready for work. It is so windy and cold today.

Jumped on the treadmill, followed by disc 12 leg bonus workouts. I have been feeling guilty about skipping them last week. :confused: I am glad I got them in.. wow.
 
Hello Ladies!

Sorry to be so AWOL.....sometimes life just gets in the way. Did Disc 11 of STS today, and now I am trying to study. I have my Final tomorrow night and just finished my extra credit project after 4 trys. Just getting old and can't remember things. Just takes me a little extra time of studying.
