50 and over week of Nov 21 check in

Two cups of raw cabbage don't make much after it is cooked. I pretended it was a great soup. Just finishing my last shake and the third day is done. I am projecting a "real" 7lb loss if I can keep this up for three weeks.

Yay Joan. I love cabbage, maybe I should look into this diet for January!

No dvd workouts yesterday a lot of up and down stairs, more today. :D I seemed to snack more yesterday than usual -- got to nip that!
 
Jann I had to really watch it. With the kids here there all kinds of good things they don't finish. In the old days I would finish their plate if it was something I liked. Yesterday it was raspberries. Yes they are good for you but they would have been extra. I ate two without thinking and put the rest away.

Since you have to eat a lot the first two days I used that as Thanksgiving and the day after. It probably isn't a very healthy diet but in the short term you get off the holiday weight and at least start the new year regular diet fresh without any extra weight and maybe smaller.

WI 170.4 Probably the easy water and glycogen weight is now off. We will see how long this lasts.

Joan - I know! It seemed every time I didn't feel like moving, I put something in my mouth, like that would give me energy or something. :( The diet is GNC's version of the HCG, right?

Well, Reggie got out again this morning. The wind is strong today and I must not have latched to gate tight. Next thing I know he is standing beside me out front. I went to pick him up and he ran!!!! :confused: So I got in a little run today plus a lot of walking in all my neighbors back yards!! :mad: He is home now. dogs! :eek:
 
Jann, at least you got your exercise in today.:D

It's hcg but not from gnc. They have some artificial stuff. The clerk said a lot of people brought it back because they were so hungry. There was enough in the first bottle for a second round so that's what I'm using. I did the gnc shakes as an alternate to a ton of chicken.
For lunch or dinner :
(1)
100 grams 3.5oz lean meat or white fish
Beef, buffalo, veal, chicken breast only, lobster, crab, shrimp, wild sea bass, wild flounder , wild sole and wild halibut.
Since I don't like fish I'm stuck with a lot of chicken. My salesperson told me they allow water packed tuna so I do have that. Beef must be very lean and not often.
(2)Vegetable only one kind per meal and no mixing
2c lettuce, 2c spinach, 2c chard, 2c beet greens, 2c celery, 1c red radishes, 1c asparagus, 2c cabbage, 2c cucumber, 1c tomatoes, 1c fennel, 1c onion
(3) fruit 1 for lunch and 1 for dinner but should be different
apple, orange, 1/2 grapefruit, 6-10 strawberries
(4) breadstick grissini or melba toast- about 20 calories

The 2 shakes actually replace the fruit, veg, breadstick and protein of one meal.

I think I will slowly add calories. Maybe a 100 per day the last week. Possibly a hard boiled egg and a cup of green beans. This isn't the diet but would like a couple of weeks of a little more before stuffing myself at Christmas. Maybe then I wouldn't stuff myself.:p

Joan- you sound like you've got it together this time around. I'm having a hard time staying on track. I find that I do more mindless eating than I realized. I remember now that you have to embrace the growling stomach at first. But he way, did I tell you that I read a dr. Oz article on this diet. He actually recommends it because it is short term and works where there don't .

Jann, I laughed at your description f Reggie. Dexter does the same thing. If I head the other way though, he come back.

magnolia, you inspired me to make soup! We are having about first cold weather

N work out for e today. I did hot yoga and TRX yesterday. Then got on the scale and flipped this morning. . I have a head cold so I am going to eat low calories and not burn it up.
 
Beth I really believe you need to have the big meals right before hand to not be hungry the first week. They have you take the drops those high eating days and it should be high fat not so much high sugar.

I know if I start eating bread I would be more hungry. I agree it can only be short term but I think this is the ideal time. Otherwise I would eat from Thanksgiving to Christmas and say it is all the holidays. I just hope I have the same will come January.

I have read a lot of diet books and the people who were overweight that wrote the book always lost the weight the "wrong way". Then they write the book to tell you how you should lose. I think my dedication time is limited. If I could lose quickly(all the way to ideal weight) I think I would then be more able to keep it off. Or at least I would like to think so. I think when I only lose a few pounds and don't look that much better I'd just as soon have a piece of pie.:eek:

I ate 1/2 banana instead of my fruit. I just can't waste food and Luke didn't eat it. I had chicken and cabbage also. First shake was at lunch time but will save the other for later tonight. I have not been starving. I have felt a little hungry but lots of tea in the morning and then later eat a part of the meal wait a while and eat the veg and then later the fruit.

I still have been walking but more like 2-3 miles and not the 4-5 miles I was doing earlier. Tomorrow will be the most interesting day because I don't think I have much water weight to lose.

I read the Women Diet Doctor's book years ago. One thing she said was a weird diet is easier to go on than if you just had to count calories. She had one where you ate 3 hamb. patties and 3 oranges a day. She gave a patient that just because the patient didn't want an ordinary diet. You lost because it was less calories and high protein. Again it was short term because it really wasn't healthy.

I would love to get liposuction and a tummy tuck but I better be able to keep the weight off. They say if you gain weight it won't go back to your stomach because the fat cells were gone but you get fat in strange places like your neck.

Way to go Joan!!! Hows the weight today?

Just so you all know- I reread my last port and was shocked by all the typos. When I post using the Ipad- it changes my words so fast that I don't catch them.
 
Four days done and wi is 170.4 same as yesterday. We will see how it goes from now on and if I can keep from getting too hungry.

Joan, congratulations on the weight loss. Hope you are successful with this diet.

Ladies, I had to go and help dh with a large auction yesterday in NJ. We stayed over in NYC and went to the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall. I have been sick the whole time. I am hacking my head off, and I know that this cold has broken up and is going away, but I still feel very tired. I felt rotten all day today. So I am just going to rest and eat more soup and drink more hot tea and take care of myself. I really cannot afford to be sick now.
