50 and over week of July 24 check in

Good morning,

I'm filling out paperwork to take to Crohn's specialist on Wednesday. There is a whole page to list your current medications. I put a giant none. There is also a section to report what prescriptions you used to take for Crohn's and what you take now (just for Crohn's) . Answer is still none and none. Then there is a whole list of symptoms to check. Surprise, I wrote next to it none. Then there was a whole list of medical sounding symptoms. I didn't know what they were so I assumed I didn't have them. Then they ask how many surgeries I had for the disease. Can we spell none. Next was to list relatives with autoimmune diseases. Sorry don't have any of those either.

Hi, Y'All!

Joan, are they trying to rule out Crohn's? When do you have to see this specialist? Good luck, you know I am praying for you.

This is my "active rest" week between Mesocycle 1 & Mesocycle 2. We're going to see mil in the City, so we will be doing some walking if it doesn't rain. The forecast is thunderstorms for this afternoon and maybe into tomorrow.

I heard from my son after the surgery, and he sounded fine. We tried to call yesterday, but got his voice mail. Guess we will keep trying until we reach him.

Have a great afternoon, everyone.

Magnolia

Magnolia that is good news. I know it would be even better if you could talk to him again.

No, they say I have Crohn's now they want the expert's to do something about it. We shall see on Wednesday what they want to do. I will listen but...

I hope to start meso 3 Monday if I can talk son into doing it with me.

Joan

Yea I finished disc 25 today. DS didn't want to do what I was doing but he did lift and I had him to spot me. I was able to use his barbells. Usually I have to just use dumbbells. I was able to use 55lb on chest press.

Yesterday was so busy! We had landscapers here all day. :D:D I can't seem to do anything when they are here but look at the window.

My walkway is beautiful!! :D:D:D

Good Morning, Y'All!

Joan, congratulations on the 55! That's fantastic!

Jann, I am sure your house is beautiful.

DS called yesterday. He is still in the hospital and did not say when he might be released. He did say that he begins physical therapy August 5. He says he is in less pain. Just glad to know that things are progressing and that he is okay.

I guess my active rest for this week is housework. Still hoping to get in a walk or two.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good Morning, Y'All!

I got stir-crazy from "resting" (LOL), so I did The Firm Easy Power Walk without the hand weights and I added about ten minutes. Today was the first day cool enough for walking in about a couple of weeks. I probably did not burn very many calories, but I am trying to take it sort of easy this week, knowing that next week I'm starting Mesocycle 2.

Hope you are all doing well. Stay cool and have a great day!

Yesterday was an extremely long day. We had to leave at 9:15 to get downtown to the hospital and they wanted us there an hour early. We didn't wait that long I think that was for the drinking of the dreaded lemon flavored stuff. It wasn't as thick as barium. They also put an iv in for other stuff they gave me. It seems I was correct. I have crohn's but it is not actively inflamed at this time. I also have a fistulae (sp) from end of small bowel to end of large bowel. She said that it seems accurate to say that I had active crohn's when I was 23.

Now the choice. I can do nothing which is my plan or I can have surgery (laproscopic). Doctor was unable to give me a direction to take. I have an increased chance of cancer with that lump in me but it is probably less than 1%. Of course there is a risk with any surgery. I've decided to wait until I have a problem before I worry about this.

Joan

I did the leg disc when I got home. Yea

I am glad this is behind you Joan (no pun intended ;)). If you are not having any problems and only 1% (which is probably normal for any of us:confused:) yea, wait. Good job on getting that workout in!!

Magnolia - My neighbor says my garden is worth more than my house. The humidity was low here yesterday as well. Very nice out.

Today is HouseMax. I have neglected it way to long. I want to be outside!!

Housemax better be on the schedule tomorrow. I've put it off too long.

Completed disc 27 on Friday. Yea I did a whole week and on time.

Getting ready to go out for 40th anniversary in a few minutes.

Joan

Hi, Y'All!

Joan, I hope your anniversary was wonderful!

It has been less humid here this weekend as well. Very nice. I wouldn't mind if it stayed this way for a while.

HouseMax is also something I need to do as well. MIL coming for a visit Tuesday night & we're taking her out to a really nice restaurant near here. The place used to be a bank branch. They redid it but kept the bank theme. They call the place "Tellers." They made the vault into a wine cellar.

I just finished disc 13. I was tired of resting, and really enjoyed working out. ;)

Have a great evening, everyone!

Magnolia

Hi, Y'All!

I just finished Disc 14 Legs. I wanted to get it done because mil comes tomorrow.

Hope everyone is well. You are probably all over on FB. See you there.

Have a great evening.

Magnolia

Hi guys! Sorry for missing so much. I have been sick.

I go into the cardiologist today for a nuclear stress test. :(:(
So no workouts for a while.

Hang in there Magnolia YOU are doing great!!

Happy anniversary Joan -- hope it was a good one!

Beth -- Haven't seen you around in a while.
Cathy -- I guess it's to hot down there in Texas to even boot a computer? ;)

Stay cool!

Jann Hope you get better soon. Do you even know what is wrong yet?

Magnolia That restaurant sounds good. We went to one in Kansas City that was in an old school and they had a theme also.

We went to Mimi's Cafe for our anniversary. They have a really nice one in St. Louis. I didn't know it was a chain.

I finished disc 28. Let's hope I keep it up.

Joan

Sorry about not starting a new thread.

I'm sorry I haven't been much support for the last month or so. We have had a family member go through a major medical issue and it has taken all of my effort just to make it through the days. I know you all have had your fair share of medical stuff with family and self- so I probably should have been venting here.. but this was so bad that I have felt awkward even talking about it. Needless to say, my workouts have gone way down.

Magnolia you are way ahead of me now even though you started on the first meso cycle.

Joan, I'm proud of you for sticking with it! You mnanage to keep after it even with all your stuff going on!

Jann, I hope your heart thing isn't serious.. Keep us updated!

I am going to try to start up again..but I need a plan first!

Beth I wouldn't be keeping up with wo's except I have my son as my trainer now to keep me going. If you can keep up with wo it really does help with stress. I'm will finish second week of meso 3 tomorrow. I think I will keep doing this cycle until the new workout series is released. I haven't been able to increase weight much this week, so second time through will be needed. Please vent here as much as you need to because it does help. Or at least for me it does.

I really don't understand my dil and her parents. I got a call yesteday to see if I could watch Elliot in the afternoon. She said Elliot was crabby and complaining a lot. I decided I'd better take her temperature right away because unless she's tired or sick she's always fun to be around.

Elliot happily comes into the house full of plans for the afternoon and I could tell with a hand to the forehead there is no fever. She takes an afternoon nap and I'm still waiting for the crabby girl. When I take her home at bedtime, I realize that dil's parents have been there all day. Why they would send her to my house I can't understand. Elliot did stay overnight last week at her other grandparents but surely they shouldn't be tired of her already. They live a couple of hours away so they don't see the grandkids as much. I think a lot of the bad behavior is the expectations of dil's mother. She is aways after Elliot for behavior that is not bad in my opinion. Maybe dil was protecting Elliot from complaints by sending her to me.

Dh will have his colonoscopy tomorrow. So no eating today poor thing. I guess since I just did it I don't have as much sympathy as I should have.

Joan

I do need a place to vent --

I really am trying to keep myself healthy!

My body is just fighting me always!

I am tired of this fight!

BUT I will NOT give in!! :D

I have to go for a vascular study next week. Not sure what's going on -- seems to be the story every time I go to the doctor. They have no clue!

I got the new Bob Harper DVD's this week (for got I pre-ordered them ) My plan is to do one of them tomorrow. Today still icky from nuclear crap.

Yea!, Joan your own personal trainer -- very

Beth feel free to come here and let it go! We are here for ya. I am sorry about your ordeal. Family.

Magnolia it's so motivating to see you chugging away with your workouts. YOU make me proud!! :D:D

Hi, Y'All!

Thank you all so much for your kind words of support. It helps me a lot. You ladies are my inspiration.

I just finished Disc 15, and wow, am I tired!! Obviously have the right weight selections.

Jann, keep the faith. Sometimes I know it is hard, but you are a strong lady and you can keep going even when it seems impossible.

Joan, I admire you for just sticking to it when everything seems to be going wrong. Working out is one of the best stress relievers I know of. During my working life, I was one of those people who went home right after work and exercised or walked. It is the most constructive "Happy Hour" I know of.

Beth, I was concerned when we didn't hear from you. I am so sorry about your family member's trouble. I hope all is better now. You can always vent here, we are all friends.

You all have my prayers. Remember that bad times are temporary and good times are on the way.

Have a great evening, everyone.

Hi, Y'All!

I just finished HiiT 30/30 and followed it with Pilates-Inspired Abs from the Ab Circuit DVD. It was killer, and I had to modify some of those high jumps, but I did manage to get a very intense workout anyway. I can hardly wait for the new low impact ones. That will just be great.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
