50 and over week of Feb 6 check in

Another week and I still can't keep up on my wo. I do walk every day but can't make myself lift.

Hi, Y'All!

Joan, I think it's wonderful that you are doing something every day. We often forget that walking is a great workout in itself. I do believe that we need stretching and weight training as well, but walking is a great basic activity.

I hyper-extended my knee on Thursday, so I decided to rest and ice it over the weekend. Seems fine now, so tomorrow morning I am going to start back. I am just not going to give up. I really don't like every workout being brand new, and I do better when I mix new workouts with ones I already know. I am going to change my pattern this week.

nope, not into it at all, magnolia, totally forgot about it. we rode horses today since we have come out of the deep freeze we were in last week. totally NOT HAVING our nice texas winter. last week was awful, we even got snow on friday. YUCK! tues-fri was in the 20's or below. it was really awful. we are not used to this down here. that is why we live here.:)

been doing tracie long last month and probably this month too. love her new workouts.

Morning all! Had a quiet weekend. Joan I agree with Magnolia, walking is very good! Don't be so hard on yourself, walking everyday will lead into more, you will see. :)

Speaking of walking -- Treadmill 30 mins yesterday and same for today.

Magnolia we watched the game on and off between getting some things done. Usually I watch just for the commercials had no interest in either team this year. :rolleyes: Watched the puppy bowl also - :p
 
Good Morning, Y'All!

I just finished two of the new Firm workouts and the core workout, followed by back stretching. I am looking to mix up my rotations more, but not sure exactly how. Plus I weighed this morning, and it was depressing, but not unexpected. I'm not going to dwell on it and get depressed, I'm just going to let it motivate me to work out every day with more intensity and keep my back healthy so that I don't ever do this again. My eating habits also need some help.

Jann, I saw that Puppy Bowl, too. Those puppies were so cute!! :D

I am not really a football fan, but I love baseball. Hey, spring training starts soon!

Magnolia did you say spring. I can't wait. Not for baseball just the weather.

On Feb 7, 2009 it was 70 degrees. But this year is all about cold and snow. It could be worse, in 1895 it was 18 below zero.

I have been so busy with work. I didn't even get walking in the last two days. Brother is in town so diet is terrible.

Hope everyone is well. Dh has had a terrible cold. He had better not give it to me.

HI all!

45 mins on the treadmill this morning. I am trying to do my walking before I eat. According to some they say you burn more fat that way. I really need to burn fat anyway I can now.


Cathy if you read this. I am from Maryland. The pine trees are a white pine I believe.
 
Hi, Y'All!

I just finished Basic Step, followed by the ab workout on that same dvd, and finished with a back stretching workout. I decided that I am not benefiting from trying to do brand new workouts every day. I am basically a klutz and need to really become secure with them to get the full benefit, so I am just rotating the new workouts in among the ones that I know very well. That long layoff with my back really set me "back" (as it were). ;) Anyway, I think this will work better.

Magnolia doing workouts that I've done before make me work harder. When trying a new workout I don't give it may all because I am not sure what's coming. You will be strong in no time. Muscle memory is great!! I am counting on that, again. ;)

45 mins on the treadmill. Well, actually it was 50 minutes. I need to push myself to go that 1 hour. :)

I just did another Firm Express, followed by Fit Prime Lower Body Burn. It's so nice to pick up those old workouts again! It was tough getting through, but I am not giving up, so I did it all. I think that's the only way to get back into shape. Jann, I agree with you. I don't know how anyone can make any headway if they are only doing new workouts.
