Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Just getting us started. I haven't done anything since Friday. Can you believe I only used 2002 calories for the 24 hours of Friday. I must only get about 200 calories per disc.

Joan

Back again,

Tonight I did Basic Step and Body Fusion. I actually think this one is for beginners. Which means I came close to doing it right.:D

I went to mall today to look at used fitness eq. store. I must not have been to mall in a long time because they were not there anymore. I was going to get a shorter barbell. The one dh has is too long and is too difficult to get weights on and off.

It's still 95 degrees. It was close to 100 during the day. Airconditioner is having a hard time keeping up.

new week!!

New week! New energy!!!!
On my way to gym to do meso 3 week 2- whatever disc that is. I like doing this meso at the gym because the equipment is already there and it breaks up the monotony. I did it this way last time too, which is probably why I didn't notice that I am missing a disc. Do you think they would send me another one?

Joan, I got a barbell that has a slight bend in it (for behind the neck) and the caps screw on and off- I like it because to me it is easier than the things you pinch- the only thing is- I really don't know how much the bar itself weighs because I never mad a mental note of it when I bought it..

Hi to Jann, Tricia, Magnolia and Cathy!!:rolleyes:

Checking in with 4DS BootCamp premix 1 and Cardio fix. :D I worked it!

Joan I added Basic step into my rotation this month for that very reason. I feel I can really push it and not think about tripping. :D Good Job! I have a short BB I find it easier to move around.

Beth I am sure if you contact CS they will send you the missing disc. I have found them super good. :)

Hi, Y'all!

Jann, is that a new Workout Manager feature? I need to visit again. I've sort of gotten into Cathe TV. It's pretty cool.

Just finished Push Circuit 1, followed by Stability Ball Abs from the Basic Step/Body Fusion DVD. Joan, I think Basic Step and Body Fusion are geared to beginners, but I still use them when I'm pushed for time or when I just want something less complicated than the other cardios. It's a pretty good little calorie burner, though, especially when you do it on an 8 inch step.

Hi, Beth, Cathy & Tricia.

Have a great evening everyone!

Yes, but, you can plug in any disc you like to do the update. You can also put in a ticker for weight loss and having a baby.
I love the Cathe TV stuff! :)

Happy Monday everyone!

I can't remember when the last time that I checked in, but I've not been doing much workout-wise, so I guess that's ok! Yesterday I finally did disc #33 and it was great to be lifting weights again. DH got me a weight lifting belt (accidentally, he bought it and it's too small for him, so there you have it -I get a belt!). It was nice to have that support, especially during the bicep curls - Wowza, wowza, wowza. Have you noticed any time when one muscle group is super strong with the weights and another is struggling? I don't know why, but my 1rm for biceps seems low compared to shoulders (right on target) - and triceps is way too heavy. I wish the workout manager had a feature to note the weight you used and adjust your upcoming printouts accordingly.

Today DH and I did several treks up and down our driveway, which is a nice uphill walk & in 90 something degrees I'm counting that as my cardio for today. Tomorrow starts my last official week of STS, Meso #3. Sad. SO sad to see this end - but the results will be worth all the work! I'll post my measurements once I'm through for you.

BTW- the kids were adorable at our Closing Mass for Vacation Bible School. Especially the Pre-K and K, who had a song called "Little Angels" in which they "flap your wings, turn around, touch the ground. Touch your knees, touch your nose, touch your little toes!". This repeats and get faster and everyone loved it! I will admit though that I got misty when my oldest was with her class practicing, seeing all those kids singing, smiling and holding hands with each other - here I go again. Lord, Motherhood makes you very emotional, I've realized repeatedly!!

Well, hopefully everyone will survive the heat this week, I'll be back tomorrow once I do Disc 34! Goodnight,

Jann , what new stuff ar eyou talking about???

ok, i did disc 23 and that is a tough workout. had to go down in my squat wts a bit. was hurting my lower back again. do ya'll find you have to go lower w/narrow squats as opposed to regular squats? i don't know, but , man i had some pain in the left side of my lower back.

Hi everyone,

Just finished disc 36, I still have to go back and finish disc 35 but that is last one.:D

Tricia you can update future wo cards by going to your completed sts wo on calendar. You open wo on that day and edit. It shows copy of wo card. You go to edit 1rm. It changes 1rm for wo cards and all future wo cards are correct. The only problem I have is when you go to 1rm that is the heading( like STS or Calendar etc.) to see how you compare to everyone else my 1rms were kind of crazy. Some like the seated overhead extension had my 1rm less than the 85% I did with disc 36.

Examples from disc 36
flat bench tricep extension 14lb
seated overhead extension 14lb
seated concentration curls 14lb
cross body kickbacks 14lb
my standing front press was with 2 15 lb dumbbells

Cathy I used 20lb dumbbells for both narrow and wide stance squats.

Jann Weight loss and sts ticker seem like a good idea but get the baby ticker away from me. I think that's what caused the initial weight gain.:p

I need to get back to nutrition calculator. That's the only time I lost weight.

Hi Magnolia and Beth.

I think what you are asking is about the ticker's. They are new.
I can use the same weight for narrow and regular squats. Stick that butt out is the key. ;)

uh jann, i found them, but i think i made a boo boo. :) what do i do now? i have always said i'm dangerous around electronic devices.
cathy

OH my GOSH, Cathy! I don't know what you did or how to fix it, but I burst out laughing when I saw this, so thanks for the laugh. Now if I have the same problem, I won't feel bad!! That is too Funny!

Hi, Y'all!

Well, I took a day off from working out today, but it was because I was behind in course work, so I had to try to catch up. Another paper due soon.

Beth, the Stott Pilates DVD I ordered arrived today. The thing I like best about it is that there is a whole section devoted to demonstrating proper form, including proper breathing, cervical alignment, and core, etc. I really like the instructor--no nonsense, and gives lots of instruction so that proper form is presented with every move. I am impressed, but the workout is a bit longer than I would like, since it is 52 minutes. I will have to limit it to an active rest day, and maybe find something a little shorter to squeeze in with other workouts. Might be perfect for "rest" weeks.

Joan, it has been hot here yesterday and today, too. Ninety degrees is really a lot for NY. Not the worst for back home, but here the humidity is really awful, which just makes it that much worse.

Hi, Jann, Cathy & Tricia.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Magnolia

Hi, Y'all.

Back again.

BTW, Cathy, I do squats with 20 lb. wts., too. I agree with Jann--when you're doing squats--stick your butt out! It'll make all the difference.

'Night, y'all.

Magnolia

Hi everyone,

I'm sure having trouble posting, everything seems to be going really slow tonight on the forum.

No wo. I just made a cup of tea before I started to work. I can lift the cup with my right hand but found I can't tip it so I can drink. It must be because of disc 26 yesterday but wrist didn't hurt. I will try putting it on ice.

Joan

Things did seem slow last night, I noticed that also.
I hope your wrist is OK Joan.

Magnolia which DVD did you get?

Cathy - how's your computer signature today? ;)

No workout today. It was suppose to be treadmill walk. I will be moving office furniture this afternoon and have a thousand errands so that should get me to 10,000 steps and a little weight work. :)

Hey - Beth and Tricia!

Hi, Y'all!

Joan and Jann, it must be an internet problem. I'm finding everything slow from here, too.

Jann, the DVD is Stott Pilates: The Secret to Flat Abs. Sorry, I forgot to get the link for it, I'll write back with it.

Hi, Beth, Cathy and Tricia.
