Good morning to all from the steambath of Buffalo NY!

Hot and very humid here. It is already 77 degrees and it's so humid it is almost foggy. I did the ME Express workout without abs today. This one is really an endurance workout! Especially all the leg presses. I keep looking at the Blog for more updates.. nothing since Friday ;( Hopefully Someone will start the thread each day until I get back from California. I leave tomorrow am.

Josie:
Sounds like you are doing well in the training area. Do you like Cardio Coach better than I-Train? Have fun with your grandson! another one on the way! What fun!

Jen:
I have never seen any of the Leslie Sansone DVD's.. does she make you jog in place? is there kickboxing too?

Garance:
I agree on the CArdio Timesavers.. no HR rest while you do weights etc. So the Absolute Kickbox has the pre-mixes? Is there a shorter 30-40 minute workout on it? I was LOL at the description of the commercial and the park in Orlando. I have not seen these commercials! Slummy Mummy?? the title makes me wrinkle my eyebrows :D

Linny:
Glad to hear the hives are getting better. BodyMax and chest? wow good for you!

Rhonda:

^^^^^High Fives ^^^ on the chlorestol test! :) Mine was 255 the last time tested, but over 80 on HDL so my DR did not even bring up taking meds.. My DH takes Lipitor and has a lot of side effects. I am hoping my weight loss does the same for me. I get tested again in November. My goal it to lose 30 pounds by Feb 1.

I hope everyone had a great rest of the week and weekend. I will be back Tuesday morning!

Deb;-)

Hi Ladies,

Deb, have a great time in California. I will only be spinning today.
I did double workouts on Monday and Tuesday and need a rest.

Deb, I have not tried the I-Train I only bought all of the Cardio Coach CD's they had a sale and I got all of them for about $68.00.

Josie

Happy Wednesday, All,

Wish I could say the weather is better, but we're under a heat advisory again today. The feels-like temperature will be 107, and right now the humidity is 82 percent. DH is so tired when he comes home that he's usually in bed at 8 p.m.

Deb, Leslie Sansone does have you jogging in place plus up and back. She has one DVD called Walk and Kick, but it would be a stretch to call it kickboxing.

Yesterday I did Crunch Cardio Salsa. I am so not a dancer - this is one of the DVDs where I don't just shut the door to my exercise room, I lock it! I also did Classical Stretch Oceanside.

Tonight, I plan to do Ab Hits 1, Total Body Stretching 1 (these are both from 2004, the same year Cathe filmed those easier DVDs), and Christy Taylor's Still Jumpin'.

Have a wonderful day,
Jen

Bongiorno ladies--

Today I dragged myself out of bed at 6:15 A.M. and in the soupy, humid weather did Gym Style Chest and Triceps. I think I fried them. We are having some unexpected houseguests tonight, so I don't think I will want to exercise tomorrow morning and wake them up with all my noise.

Deb, the Absolute Kickboxing DVD is very flexible. If you just want a short workout, do the Kickbox intervals or the Bodybar intervals. Separately, each of these is about 35 minutes, together they are 70. You can add on the core part of the workout to each of these, and then it's an hour. If you do all of the intervals AND the core, it ends up at over 90 minutes, but I just stop after I have done the alternating intervals and the cooldown.

Slummy Mummy is absolutely hilarious. A totally slapstick heroine--like Bridget Jones, but married (to an extremely anal husband who is constantly trying to scold her into getting more organized)and with 3 sons, ages 3, 7, 9. It's "teddibly" British. The book opens with her realization that her husband has drunk the cup of water on the bedstand storing her contact lenses. He refuses to throw up--like he did the last time she did this.

I am thrilled with my new air conditioner in my office. One of my colleagues had to vacate his office for a semester while he is on leave, and so he let me have it. He also doesn't have a place to put it, because his wife of 21 years has decided at the age of 46 that she is a lesbian and has kicked him out. I will have to get the whole story over a drink some time. Buildings and Grounds finally installed this for me yesterday so I am feeling pretty perky.

Have a safe trip, Deb!

Jen, I have no idea what 107 degrees might feel like--just bad. I don't know why they say things like that, though. How do they figure that out--is it some scientific formula? I imagine some power-crazed meteorologist saying, "Oh, let's tell them it's going to feel like . . . let's see . . . . how about 109 today. That'll scare them!"

Did floor work of PLB and some kickboxing today.

It is very steamy here. My hair looks like Little Orphan Annie.

We still have to load the truck for my daughter's move to Pittsburgh tomorrow. I had to pick up the truck because DH was working and the daughters are under 25. I had never driven a truck before. The roads here are very busy and congested. It was a bit scarey...but I made it home in one piece. A new life experience to add for this city girl.....

Will check in on Monday when I get back. My exercise will be loading and unloading the truck and carrying things up to my daughter's apartment. I will bring my yoga mat and band. Hopefully we will get some sightseeing in. The "White Coat Ceremony" is Sunday at 3:00. Then the four hour drive home.

Although I will miss her, the good news is that she is taking all her furniture, etc. out of my house.....I feel spacious.

Regards,

Rhonda
