Good Morning to all:

I did not workout this am, as I barely got 3 hours of sleep.. at 1:00 am when I still had not fallen to sleep, I turned off the alarm and started to read.. DH woke me up at 5:40..I am not sure if it was the Toronto trip, ( a 12 hour day) or the WW choc ice cream bar I had at 8:00 pm! sometimes anything chocolate before bed will keep me awake for hours.

Linny: so good to hear you were able to do an activity without breaking out! May be you are on the road to recovery.

Garance: Have a great vacation!

Jen: I wish I had gotten the stretching with the 3 30 minute workouts, instead of the full body. Until I go back and do P90x again, I can't see myself doing an hour of stretching.. Is it called "30 Minute Workouts"?

Have a good day...

Deb:)

Happy Tuesday, All,

Yesterday, I did Step, Jump, and Pump. I love this tape. The music is great.

Deb, I'm so sorry you couldn't sleep. That can really ruin your day. Hopefully, you will crash tonight.

I think the name of the 30-minute workout DVD is Express 30-Minute Workouts. There are 3 on the DVD: Oceanside? (well, it's Ocean something), Spanish Hallways, and Poolside Garden.

Something weird happened to me last week, and I think I've figured it out. For months now, I've been having spells of nausea that have lasted for longer time periods. Last week, I started up with dizzy spells as well. Saturday at work was the worst. I had to go into the ladies' room several times and lean against the wall to keep from falling over.

All kinds of weird things were going through my mind - cancer? an inner ear thing? something with my Type 1 diabetes?

I remembered a book I ordered months ago, but hadn't yet read, called ``Sweet Remedy,'' by Dr. Joseph Mercola. I immediately ordered it when I saw an advertisement for it, then had buyer's remorse, because I couldn't figure out why. I didn't see anything wrong with artificial sweeteners, and actually thought they were lifesavers for me, since I could enjoy coffee and soft drinks even with diabetes.

Saturday night, I started reading the book, and when the side effects of consuming lots of aspartame and Splenda were listed, guess who had quite a few of them? Saturday afternoon was my last day using them. Sunday, the dizzy spells were gone. Monday morning, I woke up without the nausea, and neither symptom has come back.

I can't give up my coffee. I put a little sugar in it, and take a little more insulin to cover it. Fortunately, I don't like it really sweet. The diet drinks were another story. Sunday and Monday were incredibly hard, but I didn't crack. Today is much better.

I have to wonder at the timing of when I felt compelled to buy the book, and my symptoms beginning. I'm so glad I had the book on hand - who knows how much time, money, and pain would have been spent on doctors, possibly without a diagnosis?

Tonight, I'm doing a Hi-Low tape, Low Impact and Stretch Challenge, by Jay Blahnik and Linda McHugh. It's one of my favorites.

Have a wonderful day,
Jen

I stopped using artificial sweeteners several years ago when I realized that they were contributing to my migraine headaches. And secondly, I ate more sweets when I used them. They triggered my sweet tooth without satisfying it. Try drinking selzer with lemon or lime. Iced tea with cinnamon is good.

I have to be careful about drinking decaf tea and coffee or eating chocolate late at night. Alcohol can also keep me up at night. I had problems sleeping Sunday night and fell asleep later in the day. Taking a nap also can make it hard for me to sleep. Although I feel okay today.

Thank goodness, my mammogram report came back negative. Every year I say that I will not get upset and every year I do.

I did the drills from Drill Max and the Spreen Combat abdominal workout. Then I went to a yoga class. I have almost reached my Weight Watchers Goal. I feel proud of my self because more than anything this reflects my not using food to deal with stress.

Regards to all,

Rhonda

hi my over 50 friends. i have a question, and i may have asked it before, but i keep forgetting to check this post. do ya'll s feet hurt after doing cathe's hi-impact cardios? i did IMAX3 for the first time yesterday and my feet were killing me. cardio fusion, drill max, and all those long intervals make my feet hurt, sometimes kinda bad. don't know if it is my age, or what. i am on my 3rd pair of new shoes in 4 months, so i don't think is is the shoes. and the back of my heels hurt. maybe i need to go to a podiatrist. the one i have used before is a runner, so he is into fitness. anyway, just wondered if anyone else has this problem.
thanks, cathy
